It’s been a busy weekend of Remembrance events for @MNWBUK because we owe our freedom to those who sacrificed everything. #seafarers #WeWillRememberThem – at Salisbury, England
Today is a day for reflection and remembrance so I pay tribute to my grandfather, William Ross, who was a trawlerman conscripted into the Royal Navy, and my uncle, Norman Rivers, a Lancaster Bomber rear gunner both gave their lives in WWII. #LestWeForget – at Kensington, London
LEST WE FORGET 😔
Tonight I will be representing @MNWBUK at the @PoppyLegion Festival of Remembrance @RoyalAlbertHall with MN cadets who will be taking part. Great event but I’m mindful that many MN seafarers died so that we could be free.

Today marks the first step in a NEW study of #seafarer demographics with our call for proposals from researchers who understand #maritimesector. It's nearly 10 years since we last looked at this and we need a more up-to-date picture of seafarers' needs. rb.gy/lhl6lc
A great welcome at Waterloo Station this morning en route to @MNWBUK’s Council of Management meeting. As we prepare for Remembrance Day on 11/11 we remember Merchant Navy seafarers who gave their lives so we could have freedom.
