David Moyes tenure at #Everton feels akin to a passionless, long-term marriage: unfulfilling yet secure, maintained only because both sides accept that, under current circumstances, it is the absolute ceiling of what they can achieve.
Shame the bod operating the big screens at the match didn’t put up the @SFoodbanks images when Chelsea fans started their poverty chants.
The right buyer? Do me a favour, we’ve heard all this before. Thankful that they’ve stabilised the club financially but they pulled the rug from underneath the transfer committee & won’t be spending any more.

In Scary Movie 3 (2003), the sheriff’s hat gets bigger with every cut. It’s one of the dumbest visual gags ever put on screen, which is exactly why it never stops being funny.

Congratulations to our very own Andy Fox-Hewitt, the first former Cheshire and North West official to be elected to the Office of President.
The return of the Union Learning Fund is huge, previously for every £1 spent it gave a return of £11, absolute madness from the Tory’s to cut it. Giving workers access to training benefits everyone, for me there are no downsides

This is low, even by the standards of the UK Football policing unit, casually linking the Taylor report post Hillsborough and football tragedies to changes in the law on drinking at matches
Drinking in view of the pitch didn’t cause deaths or injuries - policing failures did

💙 @Everton could you help Rupert this Saturday? I’m walking 38 miles/16hrs from North Wales to @AlderHey for him. He has ultra-rare, life-threatening AHC. Could fans at the ground be given a way to donate just £1 on the day? Thousands of Blues could make a huge difference. 🌈

Brilliant win at @lavuelta for Eddie Dunbar, what a year he’s had and to come back and take a GT stage win is superb 👌🏻
You could replace the word Police with Fire and Rescue Service in this post and the majority of the comments would still apply.
Honestly, if I were His Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Constabulary, there is no way I would have released this, given recent events.
The horrific crash in Cleveland which caused the deaths of two Police Officers; PC Matthew Blades and PC Tom Clough and its aftermath, is a prime example that communities require a local policing model. Properly funded and executed by Officers who know their communities and have the financial and physical resources to deal with local issues, including serious and organised crime.
Likewise over the weekend in Portsmouth, again a force which does not have the financial or physical resources to mobilise sufficient local public order asset when required, and had to rely on resources from elsewhere to deal with a very contentious, local issue.
Policing has been systematically underfunded and dismantled since 2014 and it’s about time a report accepts it and accepts that merging forces is not going to fix the problem, if anything it’s going to make things far, far worse.
Mergers will lead to ‘regional policing hubs’ which will see the closure of more police stations and officers being despatched to areas they don’t know purely to achieve statistical charter times, rather than to provide decent victim support.
Mergers will lead to ‘cherry picking’ of which department deals with which jobs in certain geographical areas, causing a postcode lottery for how your crime is dealt with.
Mergers will further devastate recruitment with applicants being told that they are a ‘regional resource’ and can be deployed hundreds of miles from where they live on a daily basis.
How do I know all this?
It’s already happened, it’s called ‘Police Scotland’.
Like I said a few weeks ago, if you don’t say it at the time, you can’t complain about it after the fact.

Stadium tours at Goodison weren't very accessible for disabled fans. The ones at HDS are great for access and inclusion. Having BSL tours available will mean more disabled fans can now experience stadium tours, when it may not have been as easy for them to do so at Goodison – at Huyton-with-Roby, England
BSL guided stadium tours are starting at Hill Dickinson Stadium later this month!
📅 Sunday, 27 September
⏰ 11:30am
To find out more about the BSL guided stadium tour or to book a place on the first tour, please email [email protected] for further information

Personally, I think this is nonsense. I will break down what I think is happening in this video.
It appears that Jeff Banks is a longtime Reform supporter, so Nigel is granting him two favors. The first is the opportunity to secure a contract to produce Reform's merch. The second is the opportunity to appear in this video, which effectively functions as an advertisement.
I think it is a mischaracterization to call Jeff Banks a "designer." A more apt term is "businessman." There's nothing inherently wrong with being a businessman, but if we were to survey everyone in the menswear industry, the greatest concentration of hucksters would be in this category.
For decades now, Jeff Banks has been sourcing his production in low-wage countries and then importing those items into Britain, which in turn undercuts British production. For instance, this shirt pictured below, which was made in China. To be clear: there is nothing inherently wrong with Chinese production. Some of it can be quite high-quality. But when someone arrives in the country with only the intention of maximizing profits, quality is not their central concern.
If Nigel actually cared about British manufacturing, he could have contacted @paddygrant, who has been a champion in this area for decades. While Jeff Banks was outsourcing his production, Patrick was not only manufacturing in the UK, but also saving British factories. In 2015, he saved the Blackburn factory Cookson & Clegg from closure by purchasing the operation and saving countless jobs. That factory could have easily made Reform's merch. And the money would have gone to someone who has been a genuine champion of UK manufacturing.
Jeff Banks claims that it's a "nightmare" to produce neckties in the UK, so he had to go to Como, Italy to get his silk. This is the sort of lie you can expect from a huckster who is principally concerned with profits, not British jobs.
I'm sure he knows that Macclesfield has a long tradition of producing British silk. Adamley still produces there, as you can see in the third slide. Some of their designs are inspired by David Evans's archival prints, which would have given Nigel and his team the opportunity to promote a long-forgotten British tradition. (I will save the story for David Evans for another time). These Macclesfield silks could have been given to Drake's, a domestic British neckwear producer.
Yes, this would have been expensive for the end consumer. But this is what you would have had to tell Reform supporters: if you want genuine, high-quality British manufacturing, it will cost you.
Jeff Banks doesn't take this route with his production because he knows supposed "British patriots" are often cheap bastards, much like their American counterparts. So he cuts corners where he can. By cutting costs in this way, you undercut actual British producers. Consumers see this advertisement, go to Jeff Banks, and see that the goods are cheap. They then wonder why British manufacturers are charging so much more.
Unfortunately, this corner of the market is full of hucksters who are not real patriots. Nigel promotes this guy in return for his support, which brings consumers to him, helping line his pockets — much of it cheap imports. If you want real British-made clothing, there is no shortage of options. But you have to be serious about supporting domestic craftspeople and factory workers.

Three Foodbank collections today at @MarineAFC @PrescotCablesFC and @TranmereRovers many thanks to @Billyta82277129 @Tranmere_Trust and @CrosenderWay
Local fans donating across Merseyside, all donations go directly to YOUR community #HungerDoesntWearClubColours #RightToFood – at Kirkby, England
If you’re so inclined to not spend a pound in the ground why not take that money and donate it to local people who really need it and drop off a can, bag, or whatever you can spare to @SFoodbanks van located on the fan plaza. ✊🏼
Personally, I will be joining thousands of other fans and won't be spending a single penny in the ground. Evertonians, standing together as one are a formidable force. Be respectable to Staff & Stewards & roar the team on to a famous victory #EFC #NotAPennyMore
