“Definitely seems to be that way. Even in outer space, you can't avoid it.” Kyle didn't hesitate to shake her hand. “Kyle. Kyle Rayner. Nice to meet you, Teegan.”

“Well, then it sounds our lives are way too similar. I'd say that's unlikely, but a wise man once said: Life, uh, finds a way.” Well, that he can understand. Not so much a grumpy supervisor and more a very judgy one. “Had one of those. Well, several, now that I think about it.”

“If I were to guess, probably because it was intense. Like the time I fractured my arm when I was seven. Actually, now that I think about it, the intense stuff is most of what I remember from back then.”

She is way too good for him. And he hopes that she knows that.

“Barely.” Kyle pointed out, still only half joking. “Almost sounds like you're talking about the story of my life.”

Well, this is an unexpected, but certainly not unwelcome surprise.

“Well, same here. I barely remember anything from when I was a kid. But that I do remember.”

“Personal life? What's that? Sounds familiar, but I think I forgot what it was.” He said, only half joking. Kyle nodded. “So they say, at least.”

“Yeah, I wouldn't have heard of it if it wasn't for a friend of mine. Oh, don't remind me, I barely have time as it is.”

“I don't listen to Apple music, either. I just blame a show made by Apple for this.”

“Well, you never know. Life can often find a way to surprise you. But oh, yes, I've figured it out. Nice to see you again, Helena. Well, not actually see you, since you're covering my eyes, but you get the point.”

“Well, you're definitely not my next door neighbor from when I was nine, so that only leaves one other person...—”
