Sharing a recent major life event, with abundant gratitude to all who made this special day a success.
In prep for my July move to Pitzer College, I'm making some changes in my social media accounts, shifting this account to non-work-related use (to connect with folks I know personally). I'll also use LinkedIn for professional use, so feel free to connect with me there. Thanks!
Excited to share this news.
We're thrilled to announce the seventh president of Pitzer College: Strom C. Thacker! A Pomona College graduate, political scientist, and higher ed leader from Union College in New York, President-Designate Thacker will take office in July. Read more: pitzer.edu/president/preside…

Union College is celebrating #ConstitutionDay with a larger than life wall Constitution. The wall installation was created by Raik Zaghloul, Government Documents Librarian, at Union College Schaffer Library. This library has been part of the #FDLP since 1901.

Useful article from @TheAtlantic on the importance of maintaining (and even strengthening) COVID-19 precautions as vaccination progress continues. We can't let our guard down now.
We don't have nearly enough people vaccinated yet. But we're acting like we do—and it's going to cost us if we keep it up.
I wrote about the murkiness of risk calculation in a partly-vaccinated world.
