Anthropic’s revenue rose 45% in a quarter however some investors still think its IPO valuation should come down.
Reuters reports that investors have discussed a valuation near $1.5 trillion, versus roughly $2 trillion previously expected.

Netflix is laying off about 6% of its workforce, roughly 1,000 positions worldwide, per the WSJ.
It lands just days before Netflix reports Q3 earnings on October 20, with the stock already down about 20% this year.

Inflation came out hotter than expected!
September CPI came in at 3.7% YoY vs 3.6% expected. Monthly CPI rose 0.6%, in line with forecasts. Core CPI rose 0.3% vs 0.2% expected, pushing annual core to 2.6% vs 2.5% forecast.
A 1.1 point gap between headline and core suggests energy and food are doing most of the damage, while underlying inflation is running cooler.
A core beat keeps hawks in control. Fed minutes showed most officials still see another hike as appropriate, and this gives them more cover.
Rate cut hopes get pushed further out. Hot data means higher for longer.
Watch the dollar and yields. Hotter inflation usually lifts both, which pressures growth stocks.
Next stop: the Fed.

Apple is pushing into the smart home with a doorbell, thermostat and more, all developed with LG Electronics and sold under the LG brand.
They’re built to work with Apple’s new smart home hub, which is expected to be announced tomorrow, along with a refreshed HomePod mini and a new Apple TV.
The LG accessories are still a few months from reaching shoppers, but the plan is clear: Apple wants to take on Amazon’s Ring and Google’s Nest without building every product itself.
