Fun fact: Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes met on the set of The Place Beyond the Pines. They bonded and started dating after filming.
They are still together and have 2 daughters. After playing a couple with a child Ryan imagined he didn’t want it to just be an act anymore. He said before meeting Mendes he did not actively think about having children. She changed his priorities, or made him realize what he wanted, and it was a life with her ❤️

I just finished episode 1 of Season 2 of The Terminal List. Season 1 was great. James Reece is perhaps my favorite Chris Pratt character, and he’s had a few good roles.
The Terminal List: Dark Wolf was also good. Taylor Kitsch is awesome. (John Carter is a good movie, I don’t care what they say.)
I think I may need to read Jack Carr’s Terminal List series of books. I’ve seen/heard him on a few podcasts. Seems cool. I just haven’t been an avid reader lately. I should remedy that. But the shows are awesome!
Frodo’s Hobbit’s senses were tingling.
Fun fact: This was the first scene filmed in The Lord of Rings Trilogy.
I love this scene and it’s one of my favorite moments in the movies. The fear, the tension, the set design, the costume design, the sound design, the use of the dolly zoom shot, the cinematography, top notch filmmaking.

Remember when BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES injected a little AKIRA DNA into Clayface’s transformation and made it gloriously disturbing? Ron Perlman’s voice work made the whole thing even better, giving the shape-shifting horror a genuinely tragic edge.

RIP TOM SKERRITT (1933-2026) 💔
We lost one of Hollywood's most steady, versatile character actors.
From Detroit to Hollywood — born Thomas Roy Skerritt on August 25, 1933, he served in the U.S. Air Force in the 1950s before making his film debut in 1962 alongside Robert Redford in "War Hunt".
You knew him as:
• Duke Forrest in Robert Altman's M*A*S*H (1970) - his breakthrough
• Captain Dallas in Ridley Scott's Alien (1979)
• Commander Mike "Viper" Metcalf in Top Gun (1986)
• Sheriff Jimmy Brock in Picket Fences - which won him the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama in 1993
• Drum Eatenton in Steel Magnolias (1989)
His career spanned over 6 decades, 170+ films and shows, from the 1960s to 2025's "Broke". As his family said: "While the world knew Tom through his remarkable acting career, we knew him for his humor, curiosity, wisdom, generosity, and the love he brought into our lives."
Thank you for the stories. Rest well, Captain.

Also important reminder: Aragorn's lineage can be traced back to Eru Thingol, King of Doriath, by extension Melian the Maia, also Finwë, High King of the Noldor, as well as all three houses of the Edain.
My boy Mixer is honestly underselling Aragorn here.
