We are raising money to cover loans of objects from the Oxfordshire museum service for a pop-up museum in Didcot. Please support us by joining the SODC lottery. Together we can make this happen. Many thanks.

Yeah, imagine if people hated him so much that they convicted him or even killed him!!

If Socrates was out philosophizing in American society today, he would be cancelled real quick
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
He WAS cancelled, actually. Albeit in a more severe way than being slammed on Twitter. Socrates was put on trial for "corrupting Athenian youth", and after a guilty verdict, willingly drank poison and died. history.com/.amp/topics/an…

Heads up @CoriniumMuseum I'd really like to know where you got your museum cabinets from, the ones upstairs with the drawers in them. Will be in touch by email! Many thanks :)

This is not a beautiful woven tapestry. It is not a painting. It is the most detailed image of a human cell to date, obtained by radiography, nuclear magnetic resonance and cryoelectron microscopy.

As the new @NetflixFilm release The Dig is out today we wanted to throwback to the time that @DrJaninaRamirez was shown the amazing Anglo-Saxon finds when they were displayed for the first time in @MuseumOfGlos 😱 pscp.tv/DrJaninaRamirez/1ZkJ… #thedig #AngloSaxon #throwback

Prof Janina Ramirez @DrJaninaRamirez

Possibly the most exciting Anglo-Saxon finds I’ve ever encountered! Unbelievable treasures on display for the first time

#OsimeBrown tried to stop friends stealing a phone. For that Priti Patel wants to deport him to a country he hasn’t seen for 18 years. His autism means he depends on his mum & is desperate at the thought of being away from her. #TwitterStorm for #JusticeForOsimeBrown

Soooo pleased with our new shelf configuration! Mugs and gifts are now right next to the counter for those last minute impulse buys. Only really useful when we re-open (obvs) but I’m going to enjoy looking at them in the meantime 😍😍 #bookshoplife #shelfie

Recommend this. Not only is it vastly interesting but also beautifully written. Only 15 pages in but already seduced into buying her book about colours. Writing reminiscent of Madeleine Miller. @kassiastclair thank you!

A #Roman milestone marking 37 miles to #Rome emerges on the shore of #SantaMarinella after recent storms. The epigraph with reference to the emperor #Titus is still clearly legible. informazionimarittime.com/po… #RomanArchaeology #Archaeology #Archeologia #ArcheologiaRomana

It's an unusual job but I do make pottery from every time period. Ever wondered where the term "Pod Cast" comes from? It refers to the "Pods" in which the sounds were stored, before digital, back in the 1960s, these replicas will be part of an exhibition at the Museum of Sound!

Museum people...I am looking to apply for a community grant from a county fund to pay for a couple of display cabinets for our local library. How much do they cost? Where do you get yours from? Alternatively, does anyone have spares or old ones you want to get rid of? Cheers :)
