Another reason why I love chairing this organisation. Opera Pioneers is a brilliant new initiative to bring people from under-represented backgrounds into the opera sector, in a variety of roles and as leaders.
Today we are announcing Opera Pioneers, an initiative to empower people with experience of homelessness to become creative leaders in the opera and arts sectors. This is a paid opportunity that includes mentorship and work placements in areas like Producing, Marketing and Communications, Fundraising, Front of House, Arts Leadership and Administration. Apply by 1 September ⬇️

Huge thanks to @StreetwiseOpera ‘s tremendous walkers in the #LondonWalk last night: hundreds of kind people walking through the night to raise funds for charities concerned with homelessness. Absolutely magnificent effort.

Very sad to hear this. Michael's reflections during @StreetwiseOpera's Re:Discover @BridgewaterHall last summer were profound & impactful and his work raising the profile of composers of African & Caribbean heritage will leave a lasting legacy. Thoughts with his family & friends.
Very sad to hear that Michael Harper, Professor of Singing at @rncmlive, has passed away. Professor Harper shared his brilliant research on classical composers of African and Caribbean heritage at our Re:Discover festival last year, having a lasting impact on both participants and audiences. May he rest in peace.
