The X-Files Is Officially Returning! Disney Gives New Series the Green Light!
The truth is still out there!
Disney-owned Hulu has officially ordered a new The X-Files series, bringing the iconic sci-fi franchise back to television.
The revival is being developed by Black Panther director Ryan Coogler and will star Danielle Deadwyler and Himesh Patel as two FBI agents investigating unexplained phenomena. Original series creator Chris Carter is also involved as an executive producer.
The original series became a cultural phenomenon in the 1990s, following FBI agents Mulder and Scully as they investigated paranormal mysteries and government conspiracies.
No premiere date has been announced, and the return of original stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson has not been confirmed.

Have You Tried a Flaming Moe at Universal?
This Simpsons inspired drink puts on a show!
Available in Springfield at Universal Studios Florida, the Flaming Moe is listed at $8.99 and features a nonalcoholic, orange-flavored soda served in a souvenir cup.
Dry ice tucked into a separate bottom compartment creates that bubbling, smoky effect.
Have you tried one?

Moe’s Tavern is supposed to make you feel like you’ve stepped into Springfield. Playing The Simpsons on the TV breaks that illusion—why would Moe’s customers be watching a show about themselves?
A better idea? Make the TV look tuned to Springfield’s local news, with Kent Brockman delivering ridiculous headlines and reports from around town. It would give guests something funny to watch while keeping them inside the world Universal worked so hard to recreate.

The Swan Hotel’s statues are easy to recognize—but the dolphins atop its neighboring hotel often leave guests scratching their heads!
Their appearance comes from a centuries-old artistic tradition. In Renaissance and Baroque art, dolphins were often portrayed as fantastical sea creatures with oversized heads, curved bodies and elaborate, fishlike tails. They appeared alongside mythological figures such as Neptune and Venus, representing the sea rather than serving as realistic wildlife portraits.
Architect Michael Graves drew inspiration from Italian sculptor Gian Lorenzo Bernini for the Dolphin Hotel’s statues. So while they might look like giant fish, their design reflects the dolphins of classical-inspired art.

A newly released Anaheim government report reveals that city officials are considering advancing plans for a transportation connection between the city’s regional train station and major destinations in the Anaheim Resort district, home to Disneyland.
Officials are proposing a $2.4 million consulting contract, supported by a $2.7 million funding allocation, to help advance the project through a potential public-private partnership.
The Anaheim City Council is scheduled to consider the proposal on Tuesday, October 13. If approved, the proposed consulting work would span approximately two years.
While the project could eventually make traveling between regional trains and the Disneyland area easier, no specific route, transportation system, or opening date has been confirmed.

Tense Exchange as Bloomberg’s Lucas Shaw Presses Disney’s Dana Walden Over Layoffs
Disney’s ongoing job cuts sparked a pointed exchange between Dana Walden and Bloomberg’s Lucas Shaw at the Bloomberg Screentime conference on October 1st.
Shaw questioned how Disney could still have employees to cut and operations to restructure after years of layoffs. Walden pushed back, calling his wording “the snarkiest possible version of this question” and disputing the suggestion that Disney was firing people every six months.
Walden defended the need to continually reassess the company’s structure, while acknowledging that layoffs are “extremely painful,” including when they affect longtime colleagues.

Dennis Haskins, best known for playing Principal Richard Belding on Saved by the Bell, has died at 75. Chattanooga’s WTVC reported his death on September 28th, citing his friend and caretaker. A cause of death has not been confirmed.
Before becoming a familiar face at Bayside High, Haskins played Mr. Belding on Disney Channel’s Good Morning, Miss Bliss in 1988. The series starred Hayley Mills alongside several actors who would become central to Saved by the Bell, including Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Dustin Diamond and Lark Voorhies. The show was later reworked into the NBC sitcom that introduced these characters to a much larger audience.
For viewers who grew up watching Zack Morris and his friends, Haskins will remain an unforgettable part of their television childhood. His Disney Channel chapter helped establish the role that would define his career and make Mr. Belding one of television’s most recognizable principals.

Opinion: X-Men ’97 showed what a revival can accomplish when it treats the original series as the foundation. It follows the X-Men’s existing story, retains the spirit of the 1990s art style, and brings several original voice actors back to their roles. It feels like the next chapter fans waited years to see.
The newly announced Darkwing Duck series is taking a different path. Disney says Darkwing has spent 35 years trapped in an alternate world where nobody knows about his heroic exploits. A new teenager named Duckie draws him back into action. Familiar friends and villains will appear, but this premise makes a much larger jump from the original show than X-Men ’97 did.
The voices are changing, too. Mark Hamill will play Darkwing, Seth Rogen will voice Launchpad, and Lizzy Caplan will play Gosalyn. They deserve a fair chance to make those roles their own. Still, no actor from the original series has been announced as returning, and for many fans, Jim Cummings’ voice is inseparable from Darkwing Duck.
A bold new story could work. But X-Men ’97 is a reminder that familiar voices, a recognizable look and close attention to the original story can be strengths, not obstacles. I hope the new Darkwing Duck finds its own success while making room to honor the performers who helped make the character beloved in the first place. #darkwingduck #markhamill #jimcummings
