#SOS Strathcona Elementary parents sound alarm about staffing levels. “We’re seeing situations like Strathcona’s across the district... the recruitment & retention issue is severe and it’s critical.” @CityNewsVAN @NEWS113O @VSB39 @janetrfraser @RichardsonYVR @victoriajungvan
Strathcona families deserve better! We need good emergency design and a functional, accessible, joyful layout. This is none of those things.
Here’s how hundreds of Strathcona students and families enter and exit school every day….Basically waiting to go through single file. Share and sign this petition asking @VSB39 to make a change! chng.it/dbdVZfHp
You can view a video here of what this walkway looks like in action: youtube.com/shorts/K2rMdo0Ko…
Many families avoid this walkway because it is so congested and choose to walk through an active parking lot instead. This is not safe and we have developed an easy solution that loses a couple parking spots and moves our dumpsters.
Hearing from Strathcona families that our water park was not turned on this weekend as publicized. Help us out @ParkBoard!

Students at an East Vancouver school have started a campaign to change the name of their school from Lord Strathcona Elementary to Barbara Howard Elementary. As @CBCLarsen reports, the students feel the former teacher at the school deserves the recognition.

2) Donate directly to the PAC here and the board will use these funds at Massy Books, to purchase books requested by Ms. Hong. Please mark your donation “Book Drive” in the notes. All donations over $20 will receive a charitable tax receipt. vsb.schoolcashonline.com/Fee…
3) Take a look at the list Ms. Hong has put together and if you happen to have any of these books that are in good condition, the school would be happy to accept them as a donation. drive.google.com/file/d/1Fs1…
Thank you for your support! Please note we are only looking for book donations that are on the list at this time. Send us an email with a notice of your donation so that we can keep track of our list: [email protected]
