Once more, Strathmore Law School continues breaking records. For the third consecutive year, a team of excellent mooters managed to retain the cup at the recently concluded Great Lakes Regional Training Program and Moot Court Competition. The team, comprised of Andrew R. Cheptumo and Faith M. Kyalo, both third year students, participated in the three-day competition, clinching the award for first place once more, a feat which was yet to be accomplished since the inception of the competition until now. They were guided by a team of seasoned coaches, led by Josephine Kairo, together with Emmanuel Macharia, Albert Macharia, Fiona Mwaura, Johny Kitheka, Ayaga Max Liambilah, together with the former champions from the 2024 and 2025 moots, namely Johnpaul Sifuma, Jonathan Lomole and fellow students coaches namely Philip Thomas Mboyah, Anthony Arika, Natasha Adhiambo, Ivan Kiriga, Amara Visram and Abigail Kenganzi Nimurungi. We are grateful for the consecutive win, and look forward to witnessing the growth of these students as they proceed with their mooting and legal career. #StrathMoreWinning! #GoPlacesWithSU

Knowledge has no borders. Neither should the standards of trust governing it. Knowledge is universal; mined anywhere, applied everywhere. But without managed, verifiable trust, academic research and technical data lose their power to inform global policy and drive economic progress. Speaking at our Pre-Summit Roundtable on Restoring Trust in Academia and the Knowledge Economy, our Summit co-convener Dr. Maureen Syallow of Strathmore University breaks down how we deliberately manage trust to turn global research into actionable statecraft. For two weeks, Constitutional Law at @StrathmoreLaw moved beyond text and case law. Students, organised into “Firms”, examined constitutional questions through other disciplines, prepared written submissions and defended their positions under questioning from panels drawn from the Judiciary, the Senior Counsel Bar, legal practice, academia, industry and international institutions. One Firm explored separation of powers through architecture and the spaces in which public power is exercised. Another examined popular sovereignty through media and digital platforms. A third used art, music and literature to explore access to justice and how information can make constitutional rights meaningful in everyday life. Others turned to history, economics, religion, political philosophy, psychology and anthropology to examine the distance between constitutional text and constitutional practice. Across four sittings, the inaugural Constitutional Law Project brought students before panels led by Prof. Luis Franceschi (@lgfranceschi) ; John Ohaga (@JohnOhaga), SC; Justice (Dr.) Freda Mugambi; and Fred Waithaka, joined by Marcelle Momha, Florent Nduwayezu, Eva Maina, Amanda Kinyanjui and Lulu Sorobit and Stacey Ombati. Prof. Mauro Arturo Rivera León joined one sitting as a guest observer. Designed and convened by Constitutional Law adjunct faculty member @Mnyagadominic, with support from Graduate Assistant Thelma Ato, the Project forms part of @StrathmoreLaw’s continuing work in experiential legal education. As Prof. Franceschi observed during the Project, returning to his reflections on education in the age of AI: “It is no longer the answer, but the question.” The exercise was ultimately one in legal judgment: identifying the constitutional question, grounding an argument in text and authority and defending it when tested.

The main Summit isn't a talk shop where conversations start, it's the room where decisions culminate. Restoring institutional trust means aligning every side of the social contract; no performance, just delivery. The Pre-Summit Roundtables operated as sector-specific engines, harvesting real-world friction to build a bulletproof agenda. Sharing as one of the core co-conveners of #TrustSummit2026, Dr. Maureen Syallow, @StrathU, breaks down the exact methodology turning pre-summit dialogue into binding institutional commitments.
