One battleground Dem talking AI safeguards despite possibility of industry spending against him: Abdul El-Sayed in #MISEN.
"I don't really think about that" he told me. "I've been targeted by $100M super PACs before. Good luck. I'd rather be on the truth than dodge their money"
NEW: Dem advisers are warning battleground candidates not to campaign too hard on AI regulations.
They fear it could spark industry spending against them.

I don’t know, this just demonstrates to me that polling can be pretty incoherent. If you adjust the wording a bit you can get pretty different results in these polls. Ask Americans should unemployed people be able to access public libraries or Medicaid? Different result.

The amount of people I've seen on here say "too little too late" is concerning. If we can't allow these people to learn and grow, then what is your activism even for?
Matthew Lillard said he is "ashamed" he returned to the 'Scream' franchise after Melissa Barrera was fired for speaking out in support of Palestine.

This is one of Democrats' most golden opportunities this cycle, and yet the funding & fundraising disparity is rarely more staggering!

The American people are sick and tired of funding Israel's genocide in Gaza.
Now Trump is doubling down and using OUR taxpayer dollars to give the extremist Netanyahu government $2.8 billion in bombs.
Not acceptable. Congress must reject these agreements.

I think "we're going to talk about cost of living, not AI" shows both a lack of understanding of how voters are grappling with AI and also the economic concerns people have about it.

Frank Pallone is 74 years old.
Maxine Waters is 88 years old.
The leaders of many of the congressional committees that would lead AI regulation & oversight tell @axios they have little to any personal exposure to the technology.
Pallone: "I don't think I've ever used it."
Waters: "I don't know. I can't remember." axios.com/2026/09/16/lawmake…

Van Hollen absolutely nails it - he explicitly says AI oligarchs should be held civilly and criminally liable under existing laws, and he points out that the AI crisis is a crisis of corruption. This is the message.

AOC: When you see what Robert Kraft did to line up all the stadiums to censor speech in that one specific way, it's become clear it's not just about one music artist or two music artists, but this is about how just a handful of stadium owners and the elite can prevent an entire massive issue, in this case, the genocide in gaza—

“ I am the daughter of Holocaust survivors, my father having been picked up on Kristallnacht and interned in Dachau…I do not take antisemitism lightly. @AbdulElSayed is not an antisemite and the twisted lies and misrepresentations circulating through the Jewish community about him are a disservice to our fight against the actual threats of antisemitism that are perpetrated by the right-wing and Christian Nationalists.”

#BB28 discourse has been wild and going to get worse when Melody or Taylor beats an icon in final 2 because of an anti-icon jury

A total misread.
“Bring industry and government leaders together” via a billionaires money is a euphemism for the corruption and pay to play politics people are revolting against.
The problem is the outsized influence of industry. Take them on. Don’t serve as an accomplice.
This is an encouraging effort to bring industry and government leaders together to pass the kind of sensible AI oversight we need. It is possible to heed the warnings of so many AI researchers and address safety concerns without sacrificing the technology’s benefits. But time is running out; the federal government must act quickly.
