⭐️⚽️STRATEGIC RUN & GUN⚽️⭐️ My FIRST tactic for FC27 is the narrow 4-2-3-1. Tactic Code: hQ5BAL5srf9x Defensive Approach: Balanced (50) Build Up: Counter As always, feedback and retweets are very much appreciated! I use a balanced defensive shape with the counter build up style. This enables your players to get back and forward, so high stamina players would be best to fit this. I found a LOT of passing options regardless of who is on the ball, and with counter and shadow striker on the wide CAMs, those forward runs get in between the opposition full backs and centre backs, leaving you the option to produce that killer pass, or leaving the striker in space to receive the ball to recycle. Taken a bit of time to design and perfect this tactic, and in this post, I'll go into a little bit of detail and recommend the best stats per position and who I use. We have gone with the narrow 4-2-3-1, in which the Right & Left CAMs will have that natural width, but also the central ability to support the target forward. Right Back - Fullback (Balanced) Can also be set to defend if you're struggling with the new defending system. This position isn't reliant on pace, so can use those CBs that also play RB like Eric Garcia. I use Djed Spence in this position. Left Back - Wing Back (Balanced) This position needs high pace, stamina and passing attributes to be successful. With the LCDM on Holding, he covers the position left by the LB. I use Alejandro Balde in this position Centre Backs - Defender (Defend) Pretty basic and common for most successful tactics. You can also set one of the CBs to balanced to cut out any forward passes by single striker formations on the opposition. I use Maxence Lacroix & Micah Richards in these positions. Left CDM - Holding (Defend) They will cover the left wing back when he bombs forward, and maintain the defensive shape on both attacks and defence. This position doesn't rely on pace, as they will rarely move ahead. High defensive statistic needed here, I use Eric Garcia in this position Right CDM - Box Crasher (Balanced) The key link to the attacking positions, but doesn't get caught too high up to be caught out. Needs a high level of passing and physical attributes to be successful, and long range shooting would also be preferable. For me, I use Fredy Guarin, who is a BARGAIN for 400 gallery tokens. Central CAM - Playmaker (Balanced) The creator of the team, who will have options to pick out between the Right CDM, Left CAM, Right CAM & ST. Another position where pace isn't an issue, as they will find the space to be able to receive and give the ball to those speedier players. High passing & dribbling required, and long shots may be nice. I use Rayan Cherki here Left CAM & Right CAM - Shadow Striker (Attack) Although positioned behind the striker, these will be your key players, running into the box from the corners to receive passes from 3 different directions, from the Right CDM, Central CAM or Striker. With regards to playstyles, whichever shooting playstyle fits your game will work. These positions are your most important for scoring, so pace, shooting & dribbling are highly recommended. For me, I use Eden Hazard (Yes I am lucky, I know) and Ewa Pajor. If you are buying players, I'd suggest these be the pricier players in the team! Striker - Target Forward (Balanced) Not many people will utilise the target forward, but in testing I found setting this to target forward, prompted the CAMs to make better forward runs. This will be your player to receive the ball, hold it up for the runners, or turn and shoot. Personally, I prefer this to be the big guy, with high physical and shooting stats required. ⭐️⚽️STRATEGIC NARROW SMASHER⚽️⭐️ The tactic that SAVED my champs, going 10-2 to redeem myself in the end Tactic Code: DBcrENdSNHYE Defensive Approach: Balanced (57) Build Up: Counter As always, feedback and retweets are very much appreciated! After seeing how 433(2) was saving a lot of people against the narrow meta, I decided it was time to try and make my own. Striker - Advanced Forward (Support) You may ask why this tactic has so many build-up/support options, but I have found this the best way to create opportunities throughout the squad. Ideally, you'd want someone with good passing, dribbling and finishing here, and of course pace is key. Wingers - Wide Playmaker (Build-Up) Again, build-up helps the wingers come inside when necessary, but will still approach their isolated RB/LB whilst creating opportunities for the others. Quick, intricate passing is required, also take advantage using LB/L1 and X to send these players on 1-2 balls to get in between their fullbacks and central defenders Right Centre Midfield - Deep Lying Playmaker (Defend) This player will drop in when the Box Crasher CDM goes forward, for me, Llorente worked wonders in the role, although it would also work with the likes of Georgia Stanway. This player picks up the ball and will always look for the pass either inside or outside Left Centre Midfield - Deep Lying Playmaker (Support) I tested between playmaker & deep lying playmaker, and I found the playmaker role would move behind their narrow defenders and become isolated. As a DLP, they found the right positioning to receive the pass and carry forward if required. Bonmati was my player here. Central Defensive Midfield - Box Crasher I know what you're thinking, why waste your CDM as your attacking midfielder? Reason being, the movement. I found the box crasher found so many ways through the middle whilst avoiding interceptions. Think of this as a CDM that has a Box to Box role. I used someone with high physical that could "barge" past players if needed, which for me was Guarin. Left Back & Right Back - Falseback (Defend) Yes, this seems to be the main meta to counter the narrow formations. The falsebacks will come inside to defend the runners from the opposition's narrow formations. I found that they intercepted a LOT of through balls, but also found they stopped the attackers receiving any kind of pass. This turned this tactic into a 2-2-1-2-2-1 with the falsebacks acting just behind the CDM role. You want someone with high interceptions in these roles, and pace ISN'T the be all and end all.
