Sadly, @piodem passed away yesterday. In addition to being the leading Italian reporter in Japan, Pio had helped our community on numerous occasions during the travel ban. I like to think that if I'm in Japan now, it's also because of him. He will be sorely missed. Ciao Pio!

Japan will increase the daily limit of entries to 50,000 people from September 7. Travel without a guide will become possible, but it will still require an agency and visa.
