A technical SEO audit can uncover thousands of potential website issues. But how do you know which ones are actually worth fixing? Automated crawling tools like Screaming Frog make it easier to identify broken links, redirect chains, indexing problems, and other technical issues. The real value, though, comes from knowing what to do with that information. In our latest blog, Straight North SEO amp; GEO Automation Expertnbsp;Nick Fatigato shares how to make technical SEO audits more efficient and actionable, including: • Combining crawl data with Google Search Console and Google Analytics • Scheduling recurring audits to catch issues early • Using AI to analyze findings without replacing human judgment • Comparing crawls to identify problems after website redesigns or migrations • Prioritizing fixes that have the greatest impact on search visibility and leads As Nick explains, a crawling tool might produce a 10,000-row spreadsheet, but it’s up to the SEO strategist to identify the handful of issues that truly matter. Marketing attribution isn’t getting easier, but marketers aren’t giving up on it. For our latest Straight North research article, we surveyed 101 marketers about their attribution priorities, practices, tools, and biggest obstacles. A few findings stood out: • 75% consider attribution mission critical or very important • 54 of 101 said AI and zero-click search have reduced their attribution confidence • No single attribution challenge was selected by more than 17% of respondents • 87% account for un-trackable marketing influence in some way, but only 30 respondents have a formal process The takeaway? Better attribution probably won’t come from finding one perfect metric. It will come from evaluating several imperfect signals through a consistent process. A credential. A five-star review. An impressive case study result. They may look credible on a website. But can someone actually verify them? In the latest Straight North SME blog, Straight North Senior SEO amp; GEO Strategist Bob Hand breaks down what separates meaningful E-E-A-T signals from what he calls “performative E-E-A-T”. These credibility signals that look convincing but don’t have enough evidence behind them. His test is straightforward: Could a motivated reader verify the claim within five minutes? That means trust signals should be specific, relevant, current, and traceable. Author credentials should match the subject. Case study results should have data and context behind them. “Reviewed by” labels should reflect a review that actually happened. Even an updated date should represent real work. For businesses focused on SEO and search visibility, the takeaway is bigger than simply adding more trust signals to a website. Audit the claims you’re already making. Substantiate what’s true, qualify what needs context, and remove what you can’t defend. You may also uncover real expertise and results inside your organization that deserve to be on the site but aren’t there yet. Read the full article: straightnorth.com/blog/perfo…

Out of stock doesn’t always mean out of search. When an e-commerce product sells out or is discontinued, deleting the product page may seem like the obvious next step. But that decision can affect search visibility, and leave shoppers wondering where to go next. In our latest article, Straight North’s E-Commerce SEO & GEO Expert Mark Greathouse breaks down how to approach SEO for out-of-stock products, including: · When out-of-stock product pages should remain live · When to redirect discontinued products · How to use restock updates and relevant alternatives · When an old product page has outlived its usefulness · What to monitor after inventory changes The takeaway? There’s no single SEO strategy for every unavailable product. The right approach depends on what happens next, and how you can continue helping the shopper. Read the full article to learn how to handle out-of-stock and discontinued product pages without creating a dead end for search engines or customers. straightnorth.com/blog/seo-f…

A ranking change tells you what happened. It rarely tells you why. That’s why storytelling matters in SEO and GEO strategy. When traffic shifts, we need an explanation to test. The test should consider search demand, website experience, content performance, and business outcomes. We may never identify every factor, but that shouldn’t stop us from making the best decision the evidence supports. In our latest article, I spoke with @Bryan Paravola about interpreting SEO data, diagnosing ranking fluctuations, and reporting results without claiming more certainty than the data allows. Your company probably has better content than your competitors. It just might be buried in project files, support tickets, sales calls, and your employees’ heads. In our latest SME blog, Bob Hand, Senior SEO & GEO Strategist at Straight North, explains why firsthand experience is only valuable when you can actually show it. A project photo. A measurement. A customer question your sales team has answered 50 times. A constraint that forced your team to change its approach. Those details do more than saying, “We have decades of experience.” They prove it. And as Bob puts it, the opportunity compounds over time. Every project can add another observation, example, or lesson to a bank of knowledge that competitors — and generic AI content — can’t easily replicate. The goal isn’t to create more marketing content. It’s to get better at capturing the evidence your company is already creating. Read the full article here: straightnorth.com/blog/showc…

If you have thousands of product pages, which ones should you actually optimize first? The answer isn’t simply the products with the highest search volume. A smarter ecommerce SEO strategy looks at where search opportunity overlaps with actual business value: • Which products already sell and convert? • Which pages are close to page one in Google? • Where does search intent suggest someone is ready to buy? • Which products have strong margins or clear differentiators? • Would a category page be a better long-term SEO investment than an individual product page? That last question matters more than it might seem. Category pages can continue building search equity even as individual products come and go, while the right product page can capture highly specific, purchase-ready searches. In our latest article, Straight North’s E-Commerce SEO and GEO expert Mark Greathouse breaks down how to prioritize product page SEO and category page SEO based on rankings, conversions, customer intent, seasonality and real sales data. Because the goal isn’t to optimize every page. It’s to identify the pages most likely to turn organic visibility into revenue. Read the full article: straightnorth.com/blog/why-p…
