There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

can a neurotypical person please explain where they draw the line between a “reason” and an “excuse” because apparently i still don’t understand the rules. you ask me, “why did you do it that way?” and naturally i’m going to explain exactly what was going through my head because… you literally asked. then three sentences into my explanation you hit me with “i don’t want excuses.” okay??? you wanted the explanation or you wanted me to guess the answer you already had in mind?

Know your own medical history? Drug-seeking.
Don’t know every detail? Unreliable historian.
The standard isn’t impossible by accident.
We’ve built a system where the patient can do everything “right” and still be treated like their credibility is the symptom that needs managing.
