This is an extraordinary level of denial.... #auspol
Labor banned credit card surcharges. Tanya Plibersek: "There's a $1.9 billion saving to consumers." Matt Canavan: "There's no savings here, Tanya." The fee is still charged. It just gets hidden in the price of everything else.

The rage at Metallica from the pronouns and purple hair people for keeping politics out of their concerts is some of the dumbest shit I’ve ever seen #metallica

Ever wondered why PM Albanese is so ill-advised? Like does anyone advise him. I did the research, strap yourself in. For context Labor legend PM Bob Hawke had 15 staff in his PM office.

The Treasurer’s intervention raises an obvious question: why wasn’t the impact on small businesses adequately addressed before the policy reached this point? Australia needs economic policies that improve productivity, encourage investment and reduce unnecessary costs; not simply shift existing expenses around the economy. Labor have got to go asap 🇦🇺

Hats off to @NRL and @NRLWomens for completely outclassing the @AFL and @aflwomens by sharing and showcasing both grand finals the same day/event. If we want the women’s sport to grow we need double headers.

Fuck Me Mate do you think salary implies talent? Look at our private sector. Point to the areas where being paid massive money was in lockstep with innovation? Just one. Please show me where. It doesn’t fucking exist.

The removal of credit card fees and the subsequent increase in prices highlights why we need policies that encourage investment and business growth not the policies which are punitive and encourage businesses and investors to raise prices. The government doesn’t get it all.

The government’s new ban on card surcharges was sold to us as a win for the cost of living, but the harsh reality is that the financial burden has just been hidden right under our noses. By stripping away a business's ability to charge a separate fee, retailers are being forced to absorb these massive processing costs into their overheads, meaning everyday shelf and menu prices are about to climb even higher. To make matters worse, because our 10% GST is tied directly to the final checkout price, every single time a shop inflates their prices to survive, the government quietly rakes in an extra tax windfall on top. Meanwhile, the big banks are already moving to protect their billions in revenue by quietly slashing consumer credit card rewards points and tightening perks. It is a brilliant illusion of savings where the banks keep their profits, the government grows its tax pool, and everyday Aussies are left footing the entire bill through stealth inflation.

The Credit Card fee "debate" has taught me 1 thing, a lot of people clearly don't run businesses nor have an even basic grasp on accounting, Albo knows it. He's cleverly used this to demonize business v customers. The amount of people misunderstanding fee recovery is astounding.

A man is a man. A woman is a woman. We will not allow the ideologues and activists to deny the truth. Under a Coalition government I lead, we will end this lunacy and change and correct the law to reflect biological reality.

BREAKING: Anthony Albanese is taxing the housing industry into extinction, then pretending he’s “fixing” the crisis. More than 7,700 developers have gone under in two years. These are the only people who can actually build the homes Australia is screaming for. Albo’s answer? Hit them, and anyone who might buy from them, with every tax he can find. GST. Developer contributions. Windfall gains tax. Betterment levies. Stamp duty. Capital gains tax. Foreign investor surcharges. Land tax. Council rates. Tax on rental income. Vacancy taxes. Then Labor comes for the last things that still made building and investing worthwhile: negative gearing and the CGT discount. Modelling already shows some Sydney tenants copping an extra $24,000 a year because of it. Supply shrinks. Rents surge. Developers fold. Perfect. Governments are addicted to property tax. Albanese’s mob is no different, they just dress it up as “fairness.” NSW collected $14.3 billion in stamp duty in 2025-26, up from $12.4 billion. Nationally the states and territories took $34.4 billion. Tens of billions more will be ripped out of home sales before July 2027. Back in 2014, NSW’s $2.9 billion surplus was built on a $7.2 billion stamp duty haul during a boom. Without it, that “superior economic management” was a deficit. Same game now. Different prime minister taking the credit while supply dies. Cutting tax on real estate would be like ripping 100 pokies out of a suburban RSL that’s already on life support. They won’t do it. Too easy. Australians live in property, aspire to it, invest in it. Labor just keeps slicing the pie until the baker shuts the shop. Who is supposed to build the houses now, Anthony? Who is going to put rental stock into a starving market after you’ve made it a mug’s game? Grants, guarantees, 5% deposits and “help to buy” schemes don’t create supply. They inflate prices. The one thing that would actually work, get your greasy hand out of the till and let builders build, is the one thing this government will never do. Albanese didn’t inherit a housing crisis. He’s legislating one.

To be able to hold clubs accountable for CTE, then the AFL need measures in place to prevent it. If you can't prevent it, you can't expect clubs to be accountable for it. @afl

Can anyone explain to me why investors would take on new builds currently, while resale prices are softening, and the cost of building climbing rapidly?? Where's the incentive to create new dwellings? #auspol

RBA: “we need a drop in spending to lower inflation” The Govt: “consumers need to stop spending so we don’t have to” RESULT: businesses go into liquidation because of a drop in consumer spend. 🤦‍♂️
