The thing about this that most gets to me is the immaturity in thinking that sex is the primary thing within marriage. The intimacy is of course a big part, but sharing your life with someone is being there for each other when your parents die, you go through childbirth and childcare when you’re both on 4 hours of sleep. It’s grieving big losses and small challenges every day. It’s sharing a home and jokes and and friends and watching each other age and go through illnesses, sometimes huge ones. It’s conversations about your soul. So thinking marriage boils down to “you have sex with them for the rest of your life” shows how little of life you have lived, no offense. Because once you are in the thick of it, you are very very grateful to have your person, if you are blessed enough to find them.
