finally, later this month, there will be a celebration of Martin's life and love for cricket with a match in his memory – the club can provide details in due course for those who would like to attend. RIP Martin, after a great innings /end

Martin was able to join us for one final game when the club played down at Tonbridge in May 2023, and helped celebrate a victory, appropriately enough – this photograph was taken of him with the team to mark the occasion 3/

Martin served as the club captain during his playing days and also on the committee over the years, later becoming Stone CC President in 2016. His annual quiz at the club's Presentation Night will be fondly remembered by those who attended. 2/

Stone Cricket Club would like to pay tribute to the life of Martin Hallett, who passed away on 17 August and whose funeral was held earlier today. Martin joined the club around 1950, while still at school, and was a mainstay of Stone's batting for several decades thereafter 1/
