Taking the April Eval period with an experienced grain of salt, but I’m going to encourage these clubs to develop some sort of system for which players can start displaying better decision making. TEAMS develop a common language and some operational standards - and it helps everyone be better. They need the accountability and foundation. Teach them! And players - don’t run away from the coaches who challenge you in this way, please.
But - this I’ll stand on: the free-for-all is not benefitting anyone. And “pressing” does not qualify as a system.
Virginia looked lost after the timeout, resulting in a shot clock violation. Not to be outdone, Iowa basically said "hold my beer" and turned in an even worse final possession. Inexcusable execution from both sides.
Especially after a timeout…
Will add: Down the stretch, heads never went down. You could see, collectively, how poised they stayed.
It was a heck of a game!
What a game between Ole Miss & Minnesota!!!
Things young players can emulate from @GopherWBB in that game:
The discipline of commitment to keep the ball in front defensively + the principle of verticality in help.
The effort of Amaya Battle cleaning up the glass as their bigs were locked into block outs.

No matter how terrible you may think a ref is, at no point should parents ever come over to the benches to address a ref. Especially in 4th/5th girls basketball.
I found myself holding back one of the refs after our game today. Parents do better!

A deserving final accolade for @ChrisMason05! Congratulations on being named to the All State team! Excited you will get to represent VCS one more time this summer! Limitless future! #CNQR #OKPREPS
I don’t care about a CC/South Carolina final or tha narrative, blah blah blah! I’m disappointed in all the basketball folks on my timeline!
That offensive foul was an easy call. It was a moving screen. Yesterday, today, and forever.
It was RIGHT call!
Celebrated Easter the only way we know how, with FAMILY.
Sat in two different services this weekend but their message was the same: Jesus defeated death for not only me and you, but for EVERYONE! And He would do it all over again if it was just for one person.
He is so good!!!
