Gold has already corrected nearly as much as it did in 2008.
Yet many are acting as if the selloff has only just begun.
I see an opportunity.
If this is the secular bull market I believe it is, we won’t get many chances to buy after a pullback like this, in my view.

Before she joined his team, @judyshel sent Treasury Secretary Bessent a Kwasi Kwarteng piece arguing China could be the first to relink its currency to gold.
"It shouldn't be China. It better be the United States," she told @RonStoeferle in our IGWT 2026 interview.

🚨FORMER PBOC GOVERNOR ZHOU XIAOCHUAN URGES PBOC TO INCREASE GOLD HOLDINGS ASAP- WARNS THE WEST'S AI BUBBLE IS ABOUT TO BURST, TRIGGERING A MASSIVE DEBT CRISIS⚠️
On October 20, former People’s Bank of China Governor Zhou Xiaochuan stated at the 2026 Bund Summit that research should be conducted and contingency plans prepared for AI investment failures in the West & the financial volatility they may trigger. Corresponding policy tools should be reserved in the policy toolbox to address such volatility and its impacts.

If gold miners were a standalone sector, they would be the cheapest group in this comparison of US equities.
Roughly a 10% free cash flow yield.
No other sector shown comes close.

Yet there is no AI revolution without metals.

People, please stop using past precious metals bull markets as your roadmap.
This isn't the 1970s. The conditions are fundamentally different.
We're witnessing the deterioration of the sovereign bond market and the unraveling of the world's fiat reserve currency system... SIMULTANEOUSLY.
There is no historical playbook for this.

This is an epic misread. The correction ended in July. Wait and see.

Junior precious-metals miners versus gold and silver, as measured by the notorious GDXJ/GLD and SILJ/SLV ratios.
A couple of interesting things stand out over the last few years.
First, the two ratios bottomed at different times. GDXJ/GLD established its major low in early 2024, then revisited that area around early 2025. SILJ/SLV bottomed around early 2025. Different paths, but both eventually started recovering from years of relative underperformance.😊
The divergence became especially dramatic during the white metal's furious climb in 2025, when silver overshadowed practically everything and everyone, including its own miners, which were left in the dust despite silver's extraordinary gain. The collapse in SILJ/SLV, highlighted by the yellow rectangle, tells the story better than words can.😌
Since then, both ratios have recovered from their 2026 lows, even in the face of the sell-off in miners and metals and the ongoing troubles and volatility following the mythological January top.😙
They're still well below their recent highs, but the fact that both are steadily working their way up the ladder is very constructive, especially given the sector's relative weakness so far YTD.😀
These ratios don't tell us that miners are cheap or that the correction is over. They tell us how miners are performing against bullion and, for now, I like what I'm seeing.
Latecomers may still find it hard to avoid getting bucked hard by the bull.
Veterans who entered their long-term positions in miners 2, 3, 5 or 10 years ago definitely have an easier time of it now. A minimum, well-deserved perk after enduring years of harassment and psychological warfare before the glorious 2024/2025 upleg and the wild 2026 correction.🤠

Under Bretton Woods, gold was over 60% of the world's official reserves.
By 2014, under 9%. The "pet rock" years.
Ten years later, that share has roughly doubled. The 1960 level shows how far it still has to go.
