MONDI Q3 2026 Trading Update
🔹Underlying EBITDA was €196 million in Q3 2026, including nil forestry fair value gain, compared with €167 million in Q2 2026 (including a €43 million forestry fair value loss) and €223 million in Q3 2025
🔹Higher average selling prices offset input cost inflation in the quarter, with good order books supporting positive price momentum
🔹Excluding forestry fair value, underlying EBITDA was lower sequentially, primarily reflecting planned maintenance shuts
🔹Input costs were higher than expected as energy-related costs continued to increase through the quarter, in addition to an anticipated increase in wood costs in Central and Eastern Europe
🔹Corrugated Solutions margins were affected by competitive pressure and the lag in passing on paper price increases, while Containerboard saw positive pricing momentum offsetting higher input costs
🔹Uncoated Fine Paper experienced seasonally weaker demand and higher input costs
🔹Further price increases for a number of paper grades were announced during the quarter, with the benefit expected towards the end of 2026 and into 2027
🔹Forestry fair value gain is expected to be nil in Q4 2026 if current prices prevail, in particular South African diesel prices, with energy prices described as highly volatile and hard to predict
🔹CEO stated that higher packaging paper prices are expected to support performance as the company enters Q4, notwithstanding ongoing input cost pressures

EasyAI down -6.5% today as the high beta play unwinds
Despite being an ETF, know which ones still experience high volatility
EasyAI has performed well when the high beta AI tech stocks have rallied, however that same effect takes place when the market goes down
Just be careful, not emotional 👊
I hold EasyBF which is more balanced
