Texas resident and construction company owner Benny Melendez says heโs regretting his decision to vote for President Trump in 2024, in part because of ICEโs deportation efforts.
โHe said he was going to go and get all the criminals,โ Melendez told CBS Newsโ @camiloreports. โOur workers are not the criminals.โ
Melendez says many of his workers are now scared to show up to work, fearing arrest and deportation.
Barack Obama was speaking in support of Democratic candidates at a campaign rally in Ohio ahead of the midterm elections when he targeted Donald Trump's record as US President.
The former president said the Trump administration displayed 'incompetence, the likes of which we have not seen in modern times'.
Sky News approached the White House for comment.

๐จ Two Critical Elections In The Next 10 Days Could Move TRILLIONS In Global Markets
Israel votes first on October 27. The US follows right after with its midterms on November 3.
These look like two separate political events, but they are tied to a single domino, oil.
Both elections will decide who controls the next phase of the Iran war, and how that war plays out directly determines where oil, inflation, stocks, and crypto go next.
It all comes down to two very different approaches to military decisions.
In Israel:
- Prime Minister Netanyahu is willing to take military risks and strike Iran. That instantly spikes oil, draining money out of both stocks and crypto.
- Opposition leader Eisenkot supports military action too, but favors caution and diplomacy. That stance cools oil prices down and gives markets room to breathe.
Currently, opposition is on the lead, with 54-48 in projected seats. 61 is needed to form the majority.
In the US, it is the exact same story:
- President Trump favors keeping up heavy military pressure on Iran.
- Democrats want strict limits on military action. Even though Trump stays in office regardless of who wins the midterms, a Democratic win puts heavy legislative pressure on his military operations.
Currently, Democrats are on the lead, with 52% in their favour, per Washington Post.
When you connect the dots, the market thesis is simple:
If aggressive military risk wins, oil surges, inflation rises, stocks and risk assets suffer.
If cautious diplomacy takes hold, oil relaxes, inflation eases, and stocks and crypto get relief.
Until the picture clears after November 4, uncertainty could keep oil and markets volatile every step of the way.
