UPDATE: The Washington Post and The Bergen Record have shared additional details about 14-year-old American Amer Mohammad Saada Rabee, from Saddle Brook, NJ, who was killed by Israeli forces on Sunday in Turmus Ayya, West Bank. He was shot alongside two 15-year-old friends, including Ayoub Jabara, also an American citizen, who is now in intensive care. They report: ➤ Amer Rabee grew up in New Jersey and moved to the West Bank town of Turmus Ayya in elementary school. It is a popular summer destination for many Palestinian Americans and its mayor said 85% of the town holds dual Palestinian-American citizenship. ➤ The town’s residents have pleaded with U.S. officials for protection from settler violence, who have torched homes and cars and fired at residents, and demanded accountability for crimes against them. ➤ There is also additional reporting on the circumstances of Amer’s death: ▪️ The Palestinian American Community Center stated: “The ambulance [Rabee was being transferred in] was not allowed to pass the checkpoint for 30 minutes, a denial in medical treatment that ultimately resulted in Amer’s death.” ▪️ Israeli forces detained Amer before his death at the hospital and later returned his body with multiple bullet wounds, according to relatives. ➤ Amer was shot along with two 15-year-old friends: ▪️ Ayoub Jabara, also an American citizen, who is now in intensive care in Ramallah ▪️ Abdulrahman Shihada, who was also hospitalized. ▪️According to Suha Jabara, a relative of Amer, Jabara and Shihada escaped the scene despite their injuries, and were later transferred to the hospital by a separate Palestinian ambulance. ➤ The Palestinian American Community Center is calling on the U.S. to investigate Amer’s killing, saying the U.S. “has a duty to protect and bring justice to its citizens.” ➤ On Sunday evening, Amer’s two brothers, their uncle, and the uncle’s wife, who live in Wayne, NJ, traveled to Palestine for his funeral.

🚨BREAKING: Palestinian-American Child Shot Dead, Two Others Shot and Wounded by Israeli Forces in Occupied West Bank Omar Mohammad Rabea, a 14-year-old Palestinian with U.S. citizenship, was shot and killed on Sunday by Israeli forces near the West Bank town of Turmus Ayya, northeast of Ramallah. Two other Palestinian-American boys, aged 14 and 15, were also shot and wounded—one in the abdomen, the other in the thigh. Both were taken to a nearby clinic in the village of Abu Falah, PRCS told reporters. The Israeli military acknowledged that its forces opened fire on three children who were standing near a road adjacent to the town. A video released by the military shows the teenagers appearing to throw an object. In a statement, the military claimed it had “identified three terrorists who were throwing rocks at a highway with civilian vehicles,” and that Israeli “fighters fired at the terrorists, killing one and wounding the other two.” The military reportedly seized Omar’s body from the hospital and is still withholding it. WAFA also reports that Israeli forces delayed ambulance crews from reaching the scene. The killing comes amid a sharp rise in settler and military violence across the West Bank. While the Biden administration had previously sanctioned a handful of violent settlers, those sanctions were rescinded by the Trump administration, which also recently approved the sale of over 20,000 U.S.-made assault rifles to Israel—a $24 million deal previously delayed over concerns the weapons could be used by extremist settlers. The shooting took place a day after Palestinian Children’s Day. Ramallah and al-Bireh Governor Laila Ghannam said the targeting of the three children reflects an ongoing pattern and policy of Israeli state terror—killing Palestinian children and attempting to eradicate the Palestinian people. More than 200 children have been killed in the West Bank since October 2023. And in Gaza, Israel has killed more than 500 children in 20 days since resuming its genocidal assault on March 18, 2025. This video has now been removed for “violating X rules,” after 500,000+ views. Apparently the ruling class really doesn’t want you to see it. We’ll keep posting it until they stop doing it.

Israeli NGOs warn international community it will be complicit if Israel forcibly transfers the population of Northern Gaza Human rights NGOs based in Israel today called on the international community to take action now to prevent Israel from forcibly transferring hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who have remained in the Northern Gaza Strip outside of the area, including by denying entry of essential humanitarian aid and fuel. The Israeli ceasefire coalition, the groups Gisha, B’Tselem, PHR-I and Yesh Din, said that there are alarming signs that the Israeli military is beginning to quietly implement the Generals’ Plan, also referred to as the Eiland Plan, which calls for complete forcible transfer of the civilians of the northern Gaza Strip through tightening the siege on the area and starving the population. The NGOs reiterated the warning that states have an obligation to prevent the crimes of starvation and forcible transfer, and that if the continuation of the “wait and see” approach will enable Israel to liquidate northern Gaza, they will be complicit. All states and relevant international institutions should act now and use all tools at their disposal - legal, diplomatic and economic - to prevent this.

Theirs is the new clerisy, a clerisy of the young and the very young who are, flexibly, pre or counter-literate. Screens are not books; the ‘narrative’ of a formal algorithm is not that of discursive telling.
