A lot of those people were helping or have helped us preserve and tell the full story of integration past, present and future.
We are saddened to lose such a powerful connection and resource at @utdcce within @UTAustin system.

Couldn’t leave #Austin without paying respect to Mama Duren, a trailblazer. #BlackHistory #HookEm @UTAustin @StillOvercoming @StoryKnifeMedia @GoreeMarsh alcalde.texasexes.org/2020/0… – at Austin, TX
The assault on Black student population on PWI campuses is now complete.
Black athletes and a less than 1% Black (not 1st Gen African) will be our norm on PWI’s across our country.
The intentionality.

The endowment has doubled in 2 years.
As @UTAustin’s $42 billion endowment is fueled by the oil industry, activists are pushing for the University’s divestment from fossil fuels.
Although, its long-standing relationship with the industry and state government may make it a distant goal.

Start with the students. Hold the University Regents accountable.
OPINION: @UTAustin students should consider the questionable roots of “The Eyes of Texas,” as well as the effect it has on their fellow students, when voting in the upcoming referendum regarding the controversial Alma Mater.
