Remember: As you watch the playoff pairings show tonight, IHSA football playoff expansion passed a vote of member schools, 377â252. The membership approved this format.
If youâre frustrated with 2-win qualifiers, the brackets or who receives a bye, donât start yelling at the IHSA.
Start with the schools locally:
⢠Email your head coach, athletic director, principal and superintendentâin that order.
⢠Ask how your school voted, who was consulted and who cast the vote as its IHSA official representative. (You can find this on the IHSA school directory page.)
⢠Request a written response explaining the school/district position. Ask what educational benefit this format provides beyond simply adding another game.
⢠Ask what changes your school will propose or support. Follow up.
⢠Go to a board meeting and participate in public comment. Nothing makes school board members more uncomfortable.
Keep in mind: 252 schools voted against expansion. Your school/district may already agree with you. Ask whether itâs prepared to push for changes as soon as this season ends.
For public schools, FOIA is another way to seek records of the vote and related discussions if you arenât getting answers.
Support the kids. Ask the adults how they voted and what theyâre willing to do now.
School sports are an extension of the classroom. Giving kids opportunities matters. But âmore opportunitiesâ alone doesnât explain why this playoff format is better for them.
A 2-7 season, even against difficult competition, doesnât automatically make the case for someone deserving a postseason berth. Handling disappointment, recognizing where you fell short and working toward next season have educational value, too.

The Brewers are 21-4 their last 25 games, had the best record in baseball, play a relentless style well known to everyone, plus have a great bullpen.

There it is right there. Your #1 "analyst."

There are a lot of great Boomers out there. But they didn't build this country into a superpower. They brought us the sexual revolution and the divorce epidemic and mass migration, and plunged the country into trillions of dollars of debt in the process. They will leave the country much poorer and less stable than it was when they inherited it. That's just a fact.

You are so WRONG! The âBoomerâ slander on this app is out of control. They literally built this country into the Global Superpower it is today. They have EARNED every penny of Social Security they PAID for and then some!

League wide in MLB in 2026, fastball velocity hit a record high for the 6th consecutive season. Among all teams, the Cubs were dead last at 93.7 mph. They have ranked no higher than 26th in fastball velocity since 2018. This must change. They can pay for it, & must develop it.

Pic I took of Alex Bregman arriving at Wrigley Field this afternoon. He gave me a thumbs up.
I thought his eye and face looked better than in the Pic he posted yesterday.
Continued đđ for a speedy recovery for Alex.

Pete Crow-Armstrong has faced 28 teams and 286 pitchers in 22 stadiums so far this season, which isn't over yet
Joe DiMaggio faced 7 teams and 321 pitchers in 9 stadiums in his entire (regular season) career, which spanned 13 seasons between 1936-1951.
It's a different sport.

This might be a top 3 home run robbery of all time:
⢠Had to get a perfect jump playing in the biggest outfield in the majors
⢠No time to scale it up. Took the literal leap of faith
⢠WPA swing of 100%

This shit needs to go. Getting your ass handed to you should not reward you with getting to save your bullpen for the rest of a key series. The team doing the ass whooping should get to tax your bullpen as a reward for their performance.
