"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It will all work out." (Gordon B. Hinckley)

"There are always plenty of rivals to our work... If we let ourselves, we shall always be waiting for some distraction or other to end before we can really get down to our work. The only people who achieve much are those who want knowledge so badly that they seek it while the conditions are still unfavorable. Favorable conditions never come." — C.S. Lewis

What a privilege to be tired from work you once prayed for. What a privilege to feel overwhelmed by growth you used to dream about. What a privilege to be challenged by a life you created on purpose. What a privilege to outgrow things you used to settle for. — Unknown

The fastest learners aren't the smartest, they're the humblest. They ask more questions. They make more mistakes. They're not scared to look like beginners. Ego slows you down. Curiosity speeds you up. Stay a student - always. — Reads with Ravi (@readswithravi)

And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people. And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities. — Alma 7:11–12 (Painting: Carl Bloch, Christ in Gethsemane)

"If you spend too much time thinking about the past, you miss out on what you have right now. Reflecting, learning, and moving on is a fruitful cycle. But replaying old mistakes and revisiting past injustices is a fast way to lose the opportunity of today. Don't let one bad event beat you twice." — James Clear

"The purpose of this and every general conference is to help us to hear Him. We have prayed, and invite you to pray, that the Spirit of the Lord will be with us in such rich abundance that you can hear the messages that the Savior has especially for you—messages that will bring peace to your soul. Messages that will heal your broken heart. Messages that will illuminate your mind. Messages that will help you know what to do as you move ahead through times of turmoil and trial." — President Russell M. Nelson Photo: Jeffrey D. "You can't start last week, but you can start now. Stop dwelling on what you should have done or ruminating on the mistakes you made. Channel that energy into the next good choice. You have today and you can try again." — James Clear Photo: Dietmar Rabich / Wikimedia Commons, CC BY-SA 4.0

No complaining about a situation unless you're prepared to do something to make it better. If you see a problem and you don't come to the table with a potential solution, I don't want to hear your whining about how bad it is. It couldn't be that bad if it hasn't motivated you to try to fix it. — Arnold Schwarzenegger Photo: Harry Chase / LA Times / UCLA Library, CC BY 4.0

Saw this Cybercab last night in Lehi, UT with a safety monitor and steering wheel. Can’t wait to see these all over.
Wow! Tesla just registered another 37 Cybercabs for its robtoaxi fleet, bringing the total number of Cybercabs registered today to 56, the biggest day ever. Tesla has now registered 125 Cybercabs, surpassing the 100 mark for the first time, according to the Texas DMV.

“It is one thing to have free immigration to jobs. It is another thing to have free immigration to welfare. And you cannot have both.” -Milton Friedman
Back in the late 1800s and early 1900s when millions of immigrants flooded our shores, no paperwork was required to immigrate. No passports, visas, or work permits. Anyone who could afford a ticket could board a ship, arrive in America, answer a few basic questions, and be on their way. They could stay as long as they wanted, work wherever they wanted, buy property, start businesses, and basically do anything any American citizen could do. In fact, in most states, they could legally vote in local, state, and even national elections, subject to the same poll tax, literacy test, or other qualifications required of American citizens. If they wanted to naturalize, they just needed to register their intent and were given seven years to complete the paperwork necessary to become American citizens, which millions of immigrants were proud to do. Things began to change in the 1930s with the advent of social security numbers, and then more so with the Alien Registration Act of 1940, signed into law as a WWII security measure. When the war ended, instead of being repealed, in 1946 it evolved into what we now call Green Cards. In effect, we had completely open borders and the country thrived. In fact, during the decades we now call the Gilded Age—the high-growth period that Donald Trump claims he wants to emulate—our borders were wide open. The reason this worked so well is that we had no welfare state. People came to America for freedom and opportunity only. They came to contribute to our economy, not live off it. They did not drain our resources; they added to them. The lesson is that immigration is not the problem. The problem is the welfare state. Shut off that magnet and America will no longer attract people looking for free stuff. In fact, we need to turn off that magnet for everyone, so those who are looking for free stuff will leave to seek it out someplace else.
