Everything about this is goofy.
Justice Brett Kavanaugh wants to be liked β€” maybe more than you’d expect. In the latest installment of our nine-part Supreme Court Justice series, I’m breaking down Kavanaugh’s personality, background, and what they tell us about the kind of justice he’s become. #law #scotus

I think of this a lot while reading endless tweets about the Michigan Senate race.
In the grand sweep of American history, it’s not normal or natural for someone from New York to care who the Senator from Kansas is

It can absolutely be both if the billionaires think it will not be a one time tax, even if they're wrong.
Replying to @gabriel_zucman
Either the tax is annual – and in that case it generates revenue annually, and some billionaires leave. Or the tax is one-time – in that case it generates revenue in just one year, and there is no incentive to leave. It can’t be both at the same time.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Billionaires can leave based on beliefs the one-time tax signals future annual ones, even if it stays one-timeβ€”yielding lost income taxes without annual wealth revenue. This models uncertainty, a standard approach. nber.org/papers/w35899 lao.ca.gov/BallotAnalysis…
