It’s my birthday today. 🎂
Four years ago, @kelso_ind was just an idea between two childhood friends.
Today, with 3,500+ teammates and 29 amazing partner companies, we’ve crossed $1B in annual revenue.
Grateful. Excited. And honestly, still a little in awe of what this team has built together. 🚀

Very RARE AIR last night for Bear Bachmeier 🤯
He’s the FIRST FBS player in the past 30 years to throw, catch, and rush for TD against an AP TOP 5 opponent in the same game

BREAKING: a16z Launches The Horowitz Andreessen Academy with $42M in Funding
Yes, a school.
The Academy is an unaccredited, residential alternative to a 4-year degree in San Francisco, led by Founder & CEO Gagan Biyani (@gaganbiyani) (Udemy, Maven).
Marc Andreessen (@pmarca) & Erik Torenberg (@eriktorenberg) are on the board. Investors include Adam D'Angelo, Tobi Lütke, Tony Xu, Fidji Simo & Shyam Sankar.
Applications open today for a Founding Class of roughly 50 students, starting Fall 2027. 1 year, no tuition, admitted on proof of work.
Anthropic, Anduril, Coinbase, Meta, NVIDIA, OpenAI, Palantir, Replit & Stripe are Founding Partners, with 30+ hiring partners behind them.
We cover:
› The $42M raise and the runway behind it
› Portfolios, interviews and IQ testing in admissions
› 75% to 80% project time and weekly pod check-ins
› Tuition, partnerships and equity as the 3 revenue lines
› Why the Academy is telling fundable 17-year-olds to wait
"The big difference between going to the academy and going to college is we are not gonna prioritize your grades. We're gonna prioritize proof of work."

We had a nice event last week!
40 acquisitions in 5 years.
Over 5,000 team members.
60+ of our top leaders together in one room this week.
And I’ve never been more bullish on what we’re building at Kelso.
We’re getting bigger, but we refuse to become corporate, slow or comfortable.
Stay hungry. Stay scrappy. Move fast. Take care of our people. Take care of our customers. Find a way to get it done.
That mentality got us here. It’s the same mentality that will take us where we’re going.
To the great business owners out there building something special: we want Kelso to be the kind of place you’d be proud to see your company become part of someday.
40 acquisitions down.
We’re just getting started.

The way PREDATOR (1987) rolls its end credits like a feel-good sitcom will never stop being funny.
Thought I’d share a little update:
39 acquisitions in just over five years. 🚀
Today marks an exciting milestone for @kelso_ind as we have completed our 39th partnership as we expand our national full service MEP+ solutions.
While the number is a point of pride, what matters most is what it represents.
Years of building relationships, earning trust, and welcoming exceptional companies and team members into the Kelso family.
From day one, our mission has been to partner with great businesses and help them grow. That mission hasn’t changed, but the scale of what we’re building together certainly has.
This milestone is a testament to the incredible work of our operating companies, our home office team, and every member of the Kelso family who lives our values every day.
Together we’ve built something truly special, and we’re just getting started.
Our scale and team has enabled some very exciting growth in some key areas.
-Scaling our modular and prefab services with FabLogix and many more Kelso companies
-Bringing to life our Kelso Flywheel with Kelso Building Services as we provide full MEP+ solutions to our customers for maintenance and service solutions
-Expanding our mission critical services solutions across a number of Kelso Industries companies and divisions including Mullins Mechanical, APG Electric, LLC, KBS, Kelso SW, and more including some amazing markets for data centers, life sciences, pharma, semiconductor, hospitals, airports, and beyond
We’re grateful for how far we’ve come, but even more energized by what lies ahead.
Thank you to everyone who’s been and is now part of this journey and we are just getting started! 🙏
It’s still Day 1 and here’s to the next chapter.
