Scoop: Some 2,000 extra National Guardsmen will be deployed to DC in the spring for the NFL draft - which would likely bring the total number of troops in the city to 5,000 - similar to its summer surge for July 4.
Troops are expected to be in DC for the rest of Trump's term - and likely to hover around 2,500-3,000 outside of these surges for major events.

New: Paolo Zampolli has been dismissed from his position at the State Department, according to a U.S. official.
“Paolo was notified today that his status as an envoy has been terminated and he is no longer a government employee,” the official said.
Zampolli is a longtime friend of President Trump & first introduced him to Melania. The firing comes on the heels of Politico's report re: his months long feud with Deputy Sec of State Landau.
