Alpenglow = mainnet TOMORROW!!!
🚨 If you stream, index, or measure the chain, action is REQUIRED!
✅ If you only send transactions and read accounts, congrats, you have nothing to do!
✅ If you subscribe to Triton preconfs, streams will not be available, but you won't be billed

Added a client check to this and the results are less than ideal for activation in less than 2 days.
Validators - it's go time:
- Move to an Agave based client - preferably 4.3.2
- Fund your vote account with at least 0.8 SOL
- Make sure you set your BLS pubkey
If you need help, please reach out to us on the Solana Tech Discord.

41 validators funded their vote accounts since Tuesday.
That's good progress, but we still have 95 to go.

Excited to announce our collaboration with @triton_one!
Triton is supporting @TradeFighters with historical on-chain data and real-time streaming infrastructure.
Huge thanks to @SteveCleanBrook and @duk_random, for making this possible!
Better infrastructure. Better trading.

If we go down, we may go more down
Unless we go up, in which case we may go up
But if the up doesnt go too up, we go doen
And when the down doesnt go too down, we go up

Alpenglow hits mainnet ~Oct 21.
Old Faithful added 2 fields per block:
- block markers (footer, header, parent update, genesis cert)
- block id, the hash validators vote on
Jetstreamer 0.8.1 skips both. No error.

Last week we shipped Triton Account Sync SDK, a drop-in for @solana/web3.js that serves account reads from a local, stream-fed cache. This week it got lighter.
v0.1.2 takes the JS bundle from 4.3MB to 1.1MB.
If you haven’t tried it yet, Account Sync makes your polling faster and cheaper with one import swap:

OK, a physical implant seems to be the leading possibility, and I think Mark's October 8 post warning about this might have caused the attacker to begin the drain today.
This would pass the Ledger Live "Genuine Check" since the actual board and secure element are real, and Ledger can't detect spying implants. You wouldn't need a crazy secure element exploit for this. And cellular closes the exfiltration route question (Mark showed that these spy-implanted Ledgers have SIM cards in them with active data plans)
So the attackers are sitting there farming freshly generated seeds, waiting for the right moment to strike (if you start draining, everyone gets alerted). Probably a good moment to strike is when a post about physically modified Ledgers with SIM cards in them gets 75,000 views...
Many things still up in the air, but I'd bet on this being the vector: a specific vendor selling Ledgers with physical spy implants, bypassing the Genuine Check, spying on seeds, and doing a mass drain after seeing Mark's warning getting traction.
This looks like this could be exactly what I'm investigating. Anyone affected, please contact me or open your ledger and send me pictures so we can confirm if there's a bug in there (pictures: ledger board on top, spy implant below).

One of the topics we discussed was orderflows/Monetization Layer on @solana.
Some CEOs (trading platforms, trading bots, ...) in the ecosystem often tell me: "No, I don't want to leak my transactions to an orderflow, no mass extraction of user here!"
This really shows a lack of awareness or a failure to understand what they're doing.
If arbitrage isn't carried out by a professional structure, it will be carried out by an independent arbitrager 10 ms later, litteraly.
Not integrating a Monetization Layer into your application means accepting that these users money is being squandered within the ecosystem, for free.
If you're truly "user-first", wouldn't it make more sense to integrate a Monetization Layer and give users back the value they're losing? 🤔
Thanks @SteveCleanBrook for this podcast, it was really cool!

Solana traders need neutral infrastructure. Can your RPC vendor check these boxes?
✅ No private order-flow deals—your orders are private information and should go directly to the leader.
✅ No in-house trading—don't give business to your competitors!
@triton_one is proud to check both boxes as a neutral infrastructure provider.
Our transaction sender is optimized for fast stake-weighted delivery. Third parties never see your order before the leader.
We're not competing with you! Seriously, why support an RPC vendor that competes for the same arb opportunities you are?
We've got fast shreds, BAM & Harmonic preconfs, and the fastest gRPC streams. If your current RPC provider is working against you, it's time to switch. Links below.

Tomorrow we have an extra episode of Pirates Parley!
@SteveCleanBrook will have the @ImperialPerps team on to discuss what it takes to be the first to aggregate perps, how the Solana ecosystem changed from the candy machine days, and whatever questions you ask live!

Session 2 of Day 4 of Enrichment Week at @solanaturbine was led by @SteveCleanBrook from @triton_one.
He took us deep into RPCs and covered blockchain indexing, latency. Such a cool guy!
A lot of it went over my head, honestly. I’ll need to revisit my notes and take some time to digest everything. But sessions like these are the mental stimulus that keeps you learning and exploring. They’re fuel for curiosity.
Interesting fact: he’s been around since Solana was just an idea in a Discord server with fewer than 50 people. And all of the best friends of him are @solana people !
Within the first five minutes, he made a point that echoed something I’d realised a few weeks ago while working through the Turbine assignments:
"Think through your architecture first, because when you start scaling, those decisions can come back to bite you in the ass."

Remember all that grass we said you could touch?
Fire mages burn it.
Every staff swing throws a bolt. Your spells set the ground on fire. The grass chars black… and grows back for the next fight.
Would you be maining fire spells?
