#Labour Could it be that the knight in shining armour galloping down from Up North to rescue the imploding Labour Party is just another unprincipled egotistical opportunist?

Changing PM would in my view be a disaster for the UK internationally, esp if J Powell went too. That duo have kept UK leading with France on Ukraine, handled the Iran crisis skilfully and managed acute tensions with the US. No likely successor has any foreign policy experience

Please repost if you agree that it would be extremely unwise for Labour to remove Keir Starmer right now

The answer is not to ditch #Starmer but to keep him low profile till the UK herd mentality shifts He’s a star on the world stage but at home he’s a failure. So make it a team effort Keep him winning abroad, but at home big up #TeamLabour & get the best communicators out front.

Yes, drop that Ming Vase. He’ll get grief from the Tory press whatever he days or does. Better to be hung for a sheep than a lamb.
The obvious way for Labour to survive and even thrive against Britain's insanely biased right wing press: Have policies so loud and so brash that the RW media can never drown the message out. Like rejoining the EU. Like implementing PR.

Starting with commitment to PR and Rejoining EU
The voters tempted by Reform are lost. They're not coming back. Reform-lite will never be enough for them. Not for the next election cycle anyway. (They have to try it and get burned first.) Labour needs to attract OTHER voters.

The answer is not to ditch #Starmer but to see less of him. The high profile International leader/Trump whisperer role just puts him in the firing line. The answer is to make it a TEAM effort. Keep him abroad, but at home get your best communicators out front.

Personally I think the last thing we need is all this drama. Also so fed up of Burnham the messiah who will solve everything. There are a lot of other people who are behind his success in Manchester who were working away before he arrived. His record in government is not amazing

I want to cry. I was so happy after years of immoral leaders to have Keir Starmer elected. He was dignified. When I see the media relentlessly attack him, haters troll him & his party betray him, it’s all so vile. This job meant so much to him. I hope TRUE friends are near him😔

The problem with #BBCQT is that the programme is invariably high jacked by the most gobby speakers like Robert Jenrick. It would be greatly improved if every panellist was subjected to a set time limit to answer the question. As it is the questions can get lost in the verbiage.

In case you missed it... Great conversation with Andrew Marr at @LBC last week, on the dark money network funding populist politicians. £173 million. Five years. Four donors, two based offshore. This is the dark money buying British politics, pouring cash into media companies, think tanks, and populist parties. The public has a right to know who is bankrolling our democracy, and the Rycroft Review is a serious step towards reining it in. Why Populists Are Winning - and How to Beat Them, is out now. Hear hear! Well said Sir!
Do you agree? 👍 🇬🇧❤️🇪🇺 Sir Michael Morpurgo, "It was the greatest mistake this country has made since the war, I have no doubt about that at all" "I mean to turn our back on our neighbours in that way, not just in terms of trade but in terms of culture and everything" "It was a ridiculous decision" Complete the survey, (link below) join the cause #ExitBrexit

Notice how all of our geopolitical enemies constantly attack the EU and push against European regulation. They do it because those regulations are exactly what protects us from them. A united and well-regulated Europe is their biggest nightmare

1979: UK was sitting on a revenue bonanza from North Sea Oil, had National Debt of just £80Bn & owned all it's utilities, transport, infrastructure & millions of social homes. 2026: UK has £3Trillion national debt & virtually no assets. Capitalism has destroyed our kids' future
