Any decent, humane political position should prioritize people over profit. That is just a start.

That’s nonsense. The policies of FDRs New Deal including high taxes on the very wealthy, government intervention that made banking safer & other gvt backed consumer protections made the American middle class the envy of the world. Reaganism began to reverse this. Study somehistory

Democracy (community well being) will almost always take a back seat to capitalism (self).

The best way to grow...keep an open mind. Don't assume everyone else is wrong. Read outside comfort zone. It is surprising to see change over time.

There is something to be said, and both parties do this, that folks like you, the ultra wealthy, can be close to a politician and spend millions to help them get elected. Then once elected, you have a direct line of communication to the most powerful man in the world to help you tackle issues you’re having in your own sphere. People where I’m from don’t have the ability to do that. Someone who works hard and makes just enough to get by, but not get ahead, they don’t have access to power like that. And in a democracy, everyone’s voice is supposed to count equally.

Billionaires who can afford to go to Mars are billionaires who can afford to be taxed like Eisenhower did.

A rabbi was asked by one of his students “Why did God create atheists?” After a long pause, the rabbi finally responded with a soft but sincere voice. “God created atheists” he said, “to teach us the most important lesson of them all – the lesson of true compassion. You see, when an atheist performs an act of charity, visits someone who is sick, helps someone in need, and cares for the world, he is not doing so because of some religious teaching. He does not believe that God commanded him to perform this act. In fact, he does not believe in God at all, so his actions are based on his sense of morality. Look at the kindness he bestows on others simply because he feels it to be right. When someone reaches out to you for help. You should never say ‘I’ll pray that God will help you.’ Instead, for that moment, you should become an atheist – imagine there is no God who could help, and say ‘I will help you’.” — Martin Buber, “Tales of the Hasidim”

Mutual Aid is for those living in poverty. Vetting has been & still is a necessary part of Mutual Aid. Donors money must be respected. Groceries are an honour system, but limited. Mutual Aid is never a guarantee and not to be used as a regular source of income

Sometimes silence is a good answer, place, or posture. I don't think we have to have an option on everything.

#OTD the adventure-spy-kid's show Jonny Quest first debuted. It was wonderful! Part Jack Armstrong, part James Bond, it was the finest animated adventure show ever and I've never forgotten it. #HannahBarbera #JonnyQuest #JamesBond #JackArmstrong #adventure #animatedcartoon #kids
