In May I traveled to Paris to finally see the newly restored cathedral and to take my mother to see our old neighborhood when we lived there.
I was stunned to see packed pews at both masses we went to in the 6eme, and the crowds were well dressed families, handsome preppies, and trendy college kids.
This revival, while still small, is real and the good news is that it is the most devout, the most trad, the most conservative Catholics who are the most fervent. Libs are not rushing to be baptized--these are people who have figured out that this is, still, the best path out of the darkness. Keep hope alive! 🙏📿🇫🇷

The AfD, if elected, will be the most crucial test case determining whether the preservation of European identity is possible.
If the AfD merely closes the border, remigrates illegal migrants, and limits welfare programs for immigrants -------- it will not overturn the existing order but make it more tolerable to the German people.
Only if the AfD decisively pushes against the idea that a German is merely someone with a German passport, and starts to remigrate "non-assimilated" citizens, and creates remigration offices with a staff carrying out deportations, and carries out mass arrests against those who engage in "polarizing" activities against the policies of the AfD, and treats Russia as an energy/economic partner, and identifies NATO/EU liberalism as the enemy, and challenges the notion that Islam is merely a private faith ----- will it create a political situation offering a path away from the great replacement.
🇩🇪 Germany’s AfD is calling for a “demographic turnaround” to boost the country’s birth rate, proposing financial incentives for larger families while rejecting immigration as a solution to population decline.
The party has also pushed for tighter abortion restrictions and an end to abortion being recognised or supported as a state-backed right.
AfD proposals include tax breaks, pension contributions and baby bonuses for families, with previous campaigns promoting three-child families as a way to address Germany’s declining birth rate.

Fun little fact about Elvis’s heritage. He was descended from a wine grower named Johann Bressler, who emigrated from the Rheinland region of Germany in 1710. He settled in New York, but later moved south. 150 years later a descendent of his serving in the Confederate army anglicized the name to Presley. So the great southern rock star comes to us by way of the Confederacy, New York and Germany.

We ate sugar for 200 years before anything went wrong with it.
1700: 4lb a head a year.
1800: 18lb.
1900: 90lb, and the working man took it in his tea 6 times a day.
Obesity in 1900: about 3%. Diabetes rare enough that a doctor could name his cases.
1911: the first tin of cottonseed oil sold as food goes on the shelf. Mazola corn oil, the same year.
1960s: soybean oil in everything with a wrapper.
2000: the seed oils are a fifth of the calories in America.
Then the sugar started counting. Every gram of it doing damage it had not managed in two centuries of trying.
1999: sugar consumption peaks and starts to fall.
2020: it is down about 15% from that peak. Obesity is up from 30% to 42% over the same years.
Sugar went down. The waistline went up. The oil never moved off the shelf.
Sugar is guilty. It is guilty of exactly what it did, which was making a body already wrecked by the oil worse. It was never the one who kicked the door in.
They arrested the accomplice, put a tax on it, and left the ringleader in the fryer with a heart-healthy sticker on.
