Yesterday I was talking with Sam Combs, a wonderful Christian man in our church, and he made that statement. It was exactly what I needed to hear.
It reminded me of a few important truths:
• Progress is rarely pretty.
• Sometimes you have to learn how to “fall upward.”
• The man in the arena isn’t always the most talented, but he’s the one who had the courage to step into the fight.
• God’s grace is always sufficient.
If you want a perfectly clean stable, don’t expect much work to get done. But if you want growth, there will be dust, sweat, setbacks… and yes, even some messes along the way.
“Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.” — Proverbs 14:4
We cannot ignore the history of our nation. We need to pray that there would be a revival of reliance on God in America!
