“I was the biggest NWA fan at the time and I’m blessed to own this.” — @StephenPNew
Yesterday, attorney Stephen P. New stopped by our Facebook page while we were looking back at the old NWA/Mello Yello promotion and told us he owns the entire collection of cans — along with the original poster — and has them on display at his law office.
Naturally, I asked if there was a picture.
“I’ll take one tomorrow.”
And true to his word, he did.
Many wrestling fans know Stephen through his longtime association with Jim Cornette, but he’s also a lifelong fan of the business himself. Seeing this entire collection preserved together all these years later — and displayed in a law office, no less — is pretty special.
Stephen has been a friend to professional wrestling and a friend of our page, and we’re always happy to see him stop by and contribute to the history we share here.
Thank you, @StephenPNew, for taking the picture and letting all of us get a look at a really cool piece of NWA history.

TEASER: Putting the finishing touches on a lengthy op-ed/analysis of not only the trial but the last three years of covering the Kai Spears defamation case against the New York Times.
I do hope you’ll read it.
A jury hits The New York Times with a $9.25 million defamation verdict after its reporting wrongly links an 18-year-old Alabama basketball player to the scene of a fatal shooting.
Kai Spears was a freshman walk-on when the Times identified him as a passenger in a car at the scene of the 2023 shooting that killed 23-year-old Jamea Harris. Spears wasn't there.
The Times later corrected the story and said it regretted the error, but only after Spears filed his lawsuit.
Now, after a nine-day trial, an Alabama jury finds the Times defamed Spears and awards him $9.25 million. The newspaper says it believes the verdict is "contrary to law" and is reviewing its legal options.

They say all countries are created equal.
But then you look at the United States of America, and then you look at everybody else and you know that statement ain’t true.
See, every country’s got a 50/50 chance of being the greatest at best.
But America’s not every country.
You take that 50% chance, add 250 years of freedom, multiply it by the strongest military on Earth, multiply that by millions of hard-working Americans, then add the Stars and Stripes and one bald eagle.
Now everybody else looks at that equation and they KNOW they can’t compete.
So everybody else’s 50% chance drastically goes down.
And America’s chance of being the greatest country on Earth goes up to 141 2/3%!
The numbers don’t lie. And they spell disaster for anyone who thinks they can compete with the United States of America!
Happy 250th Birthday, America! 🇺🇸
HOLLA IF YA HEAR ME!
