In 1066 the French invaded Orthodox England. In 1793 their blasphemous revolutionaries defiled Christian altars. Unless the nations repent, & turn back to God, we see the cost of abandoning Christ.

“Will many of us be saved? I shall be the first to perish. I see others, too, who are slaves to their passions. And when I meet people of the world, I see that they live in profound ignorance, listless and unrepentant. And thus, little by little, without even noticing, I was drawn to pray for the world. The thought distressed me that if we, monks who have renounced the world, do not find salvation, what must it be like in the world? My sorrow gradually increased and I started weeping tears of despair. And now, last year when I was in such despair, tired of weeping, lying face down on the floor, the Lord appeared to me and asked, ‘Why weepest thou?’ I was silent. ‘Dost thou not know that it is I Who will judge the world?’ I still keep silent. The Lord says, ‘I will have mercy on every man who, if only once in his life, has called upon God’… The thought crossed my mind, ‘So what is the use of us tormenting ourselves day after day?’ To which the Lord replied, ‘Those who suffer because of My commandment will be My friends in the Kingdom of Heaven: the others I will merely have mercy upon.’ With this the Lord retired.” - An unnamed Hermit, Saint Silouan the Athonite, p. 199

4th–5th century church unearthed in Venice orthochristian.com/180966.ht… For centuries, ancient writers have spoken of a grand bishop’s church in Altino, but no one had ever found a trace of it. Now archaeologists say they’ve almost certainly located it, along with the bishop’s palace next to it.

The Bright Icon Lamp of Manchuria orthochristian.com/180954.ht… Alexandra Kalinovskaya Vladyka himself led a very modest life; his clothes were patched, his food was simple, and he gave his entire teaching salary to help poor students. The flock loved their cheerful and kind archpastor: people came to his apartment without fear.

Your soul has no wrinkles. The body ages, worries accumulate, but the soul remains forever young, because it is breath from the breath of God. Only the heart sometimes forgets that it is a child. Christ calls us back home:
“Unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3). He does not ask us to be great. He asks us to become small again. To be once more what we are: children of God, created in His image and called to likeness with Him. But it is not about naivety. The Holy Apostle Paul clarifies for us:
“Brothers, do not be children in your thinking. Be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature” (1 Corinthians 14:20). The innocence to which God calls us does not mean lack of mind, but lack of malice. It is a heart that does not remember evil, does not suspect, does not judge, and a mind that is awake, illuminated by grace. Saint Isaac the Syrian teaches us how to stand before Him:
“When you stand in prayer before God, make yourself in your mind like an ant and like a babbling infant. Do not say anything from knowledge before Him, but approach Him with the mind of a child.” The infant does not know beautiful words. He only knows how to stretch out his hands, and that is enough. In every trial, fall, or fear, we do not need to be strong. It is enough to be humble and to cry out like a child: “Abba, Father, help me!” and “Most Holy Mother of God, do not abandon me!” This is how the saints also reached innocence. Saint Seraphim of Sarov greeted everyone with “Christ is risen! My joy!” Saint Paisios of the Holy Mountain played with children and rejoiced in the smallest creatures. Saint Porphyrios wept with emotion while listening to a nightingale. Drawing near to God, they did not become more complicated. They became simpler, gentler, smaller. Perhaps today you have no words. You don’t need them. Babble to your Father. He understands you. The world has taught you to be strong. Christ calls you to be small. Lord, make us children again.

I hereby regret dismissing this Prophet some 35+ years ago. I was a fool. Mr. Buchanan was prescient. This is likely his most keen observation:

Pat Buchanan, 1999: “By moving NATO onto Russia’s front porch, we have scheduled a twenty-first century confrontation. … America will face a hellish dilemma: risk confrontation with a nuclear-armed Russia determined to recreate its old sphere of influence, or renege on solemn commitments and see NATO collapse.” Therefore, he said, “Offering NATO memberships to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and, as some urge, Ukraine is rashness bordering on madness.” Referring to maps the Clinton team must have ignored, Buchanan warned, “This would put the Russian base at Kaliningrad behind NATO lines and bring into a U.S.-led alliance three nations with huge Russian minorities.” Foreseeing future conflict, he observed that “Latvia is almost half Russian; eastern Ukraine, almost entirely Russian. America could neither defend nor liberate these nations without the risk of nuclear war.” Pat Buchanan, A Republic, Not an Empire: Reclaiming America’s Destiny (New York: Regnery, 1999), 17–18, 22.

France doesn't protest. France performs protest. And its protests are systematically hijacked by rioters (some of whom appear to be planted in the crowds by the authorities to sabotage the protest and discredit the demonstrators) and by migrant gangs. Roughly every eighteen months it's the same fire, the same slogans, the same silence afterward. And the same political figures and powers keep concentrating power in their own hands while turning a blind eye to what the people demand. Many keep romanticizing these protests because they mistake intensity for leverage. The reality is the opposite. Ordinary people protesting crooked politicians and their policies get discredited and drowned out by the violence, so they always lose to the apparatus. Macron answered millions in the streets with Article 49.3. That wasn't "I disagree." It was "your opinion is not an input." That is the system working as designed. Liberal democracy's final form isn't an ordinary repression. It's permission to speak while being completely ignored. You can say whatever you want, and nothing will change. You are no longer a source of power. You are an obedient vassal, an instrument that feeds money into the system. You are the source of the elites' enrichment, and they will use you as they see fit.

Nothing in previous history seems so tailor-made to stoke the egos, passions, and ambitions of talented individuals as the Internet. All Orthodox Christians need to be careful in their pursuit of online fame, but priests must be exceptionally wary. orthodoxreflections.com/can-…

‘Consequently, God does not actually condemn those who disfigured themselves and have discarded the conditions and the laws of logical nature by pursuing bestial and demonic behaviour. It was they who cut themselves off from the laws of logic and dignity. Albeit divine benevolence tolerates the straying of sinners and re-accepts them if they repent and return, they themselves have chosen to not be susceptible to repentance and a change in their corrupt life and beliefs. It is through their own choice that they have preferred and selected the life of perversion, crime and hatred and have enforced it - spiritually - to the death!  How, therefore, is God "judging" them, if they themselves have preferred malice and perversion, through their own opinion, decision and enforcement?’ - Elder Joseph of Vatopedi, Ascesis the Mother of Sanctification

If you step back from the propaganda, besides the fact that the West deliberately started the war in ukraine, this is all part of a plan to get out of the sovereign debt crisis - since governments always default after war.
