So excited to see this news. That’s incredible. Good work Bryce.
🚨A New Chapter🚨 It’s a little bittersweet to share that I’ll be stepping away from the Game Theory Podcast with @Sam_Vecenie. I can’t thank Sam enough for the opportunities he’s given me over the past few years. I’ve truly enjoyed my time on the show, and I’ll miss it. This decision comes as I step into an official role with @AMRAgency as their film guy, breaking down film for both current and potential clients at all levels. I’m incredibly excited for this opportunity and grateful to everyone who has supported me and opened doors for me along the way. For now, I’ll continue podcasting on #ThePistonsPulse and creating content on the MotorCityHoops Substack. I appreciate everyone who has been along for the ride! 🙏

That freaking sucks man… we heard nothing but good reports about him with the kings and now this… what a horrible situation for him after all the injuries he’s already been through
Just in: Sacramento Kings guard Ben Simmons is believed to have sustained a torn Achilles tendon at practice Sunday, sources tell ESPN. A suspected season-ending injury for Simmons after rejuvenated and impressive training camp and preseason performances.

Mail day! This sweet 1997 Fleer Showcase Penny Hardaway refractor came in the mail. It was my last purchase and possibly my last for one a little while. Feels like a great addition to the Penny collection I’m growing.

And honestly? Being in a tight spot FORCING Weltman to negotiate isn't a bad thing either.

RFA is not a bad thing. Negotiations are not a bad thing, especially when we hardly saw any negotiations with past contracts that got us in this tight financial situation

This (the Magic not offering $22M a year... yet) is very clearly negotiation between the Magic and Anthony Black as we get closer to Monday's (?) deadline to agree to an extension - stay tuned y'all...
The Orlando Magic are reportedly unwilling to offer Anthony Black the same contract Brandin Podziemski received from the Warriors, per @WindhorstESPN “Brandin Podziemski is a comparable player to Black and his five-year, $110 million deal with the Warriors last week has framed his contract talks to a degree, especially because Podziemski and Black share an agent, Bill Duffy. The Magic, sources said, have not yet been willing to offer the same $22 million per year average that Podziemski signed.” (Via espn.com/nba/story/_/id/5019…)

No other outlet gives you highlights from their own videographer. Much respect to everyone that covers the team but HQ is literally the only outlet that brings highlights that’s not captured by a Magic or broadcast employee. Shoutout to @Shot_by_Lew who’s extremely talented.
Paolo was special on Tuesday night against the Cavs. Here’s a few highlights from his impressive performance. 🎥 - @Shot_by_Lew

My favorite clip from Wagner so far, creating a wide open 3 after a made bucket Brush screen gets him downhill and he finds Da Silva for an uncontested C&S 3 after collapsing the defense. This type of early offense influence can really save their HC offense
Franz Wagner has averaged a 19.1 AST% in his Orlando career, with his peak AST% (26.6%) coming in 2025. Through 3 preseason games, he's generated 35.3% of the Magic's assists. Sean Sweeney gets an A+ so far for how he's reshaped the Magic's offensive division of labor.

New Penny & Pops Podcast episode is up. Sean Sweeney may have unlocked some Orlando roster depth. Magic are 2-1 in preseason after very useful games against Cleveland. No Anthony Black contract extension? NBA Cup courts. And more. Apple: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas… #LetsGoMagic

Let's get more of Wagner in the dunker too, he's got the passing and floater touch to convert on these looks Helpful wrinkle when teams try to stash the Luka/Harden's of the world on him

Things we need to see more of: Paolo as a roller Sweeney will have a universal stamp of approval if he can dial down Paolo's ~35% PNR BH usage to about 20-25%, adding more reps for Franz and getting Banchero downhill. Nonsensical for him to pop more than 50% of the time
