I always like reminding GoK folks that this is the same nonsense that they did with Finance Bill 2023 that messed packaging, after an investor had already set up a factory.
Just pata potea nonsense.

KAA used to be led by Jonny Anderson, a proper professional who was talking about things like a common cargo facility to raise Kenya’s freight hub profile.
Instead we now have a charlatan who was rewarded after failing as a politician.

This con man is completely lying to our faces,
RUTO’S 1.1 MILLION HOUSING JOBS CLAIM DOESN’T ADD UP.
ruto claims 1.1 million Kenyans are working in his Affordable Housing Programme. Yet a government-commissioned study counted only 640,442 direct and indirect jobs combined as of January 2026, while KNBS recorded approximately 728,400 workers across Kenya’s entire construction sector in 2025 - not just affordable housing. These figures cover different periods and categories, but neither substantiates his 1.1 million claim.
@WilliamsRuto , where are the independently verified employment records, project-by-project figures and counting methodology? Kenyans deserve evidence, not another inflated-sounding announcement.
And houses that cost a few hundred millions are not - the hundreds of billions that are untraceable from the affordable housing fund and levy…stolen public money?
But “SINGAPORE” while building a few houses with worsening corruption…
Here my story, I fight corruption until there’s justice:

The Affordable Housing Programme is creating jobs at a major scale - now at 1.1 million - and is expected to reduce land fragmentation in agriculturally productive areas, eliminate slums and promote well-planned settlements for better service delivery.
Our target is to build two million houses, 200,000 annually. We are on course, with 300,000 units already under construction across the country.

As someone who has spent years trying to create a dignified market for Kenyan developers, I think we should be celebrating founders who are building their own products using AI.
Look at what Mbiti has done with Aluta. Why should he spend KSh 500,000 or even KSh 3 million hiring developers to build something he hasn't validated? Having a working product doesn't guarantee sales. Many of us have built technically brilliant applications that nobody wanted to pay for. By building it himself, Mbiti has saved money that he can now spend on marketing, acquiring customers and validating the business.
And what many devs don't seem to get is that if Aluta succeeds, Mbiti will eventually face technical challenges that require experienced engineers. But instead of asking investors for KSh 10 million to build an untested idea, he can now say, "We have 10,000 paying customers, our infrastructure can't keep up, and I need KSh 10 million to hire engineers who can help us scale and cut server costs by 50%." That's a much better problem to have, and a more compelling case for investment.
I think developers need to appreciate this. Let founders who understand their markets validate their ideas as cheaply as possible. Our opportunity comes when those ideas succeed and need SERIOUS ENGINEERING EXPERTISE
Mimi hapa, I'm positioning Reduzer to support founders like Mbiti and Kairo as they grow. Because one successful founder could end up creating two or three dignified, well-paying jobs for Kenyan developers for years.

Apparently @JohnMbadiN is a finance minister? He doesn’t know basic data & currency conversions?
Yikes!
He’s misleading. This is currency conversion related not economic growth.
Kenya didn’t suddenly become more productive. Ethiopia’s birr depreciated sharply, reducing its GDP when measured in US dollars.
📊 2025 real economic growth:
🇪🇹 Ethiopia: ~9.2%
🇰🇪 Kenya: 4.6%
Ethiopia also remains the larger economy when adjusted for purchasing power (PPP).
A currency-driven ranking change is not an economic miracle.
Kenya’s economy has reached a significant milestone, with GDP estimated at $151.25 billion, positioning us as East Africa’s largest economy and marking a shift in the region’s economic landscape.
