Here’s the law, if the adjacent intersections aren’t traffic signal controlled, mid lock ped crossings are permitted. Jaydriver is at fault for not yielding to pedestrian! @LAPD
It was a legal midblock crossing. Jaywalking doesn’t appear in the CA Vehicle Code, it is a prejorative used by motorist to stigmatise pedestrians who wish to cross the street.
