Looking forward to meeting my new 1L students in Civil Procedure this September!
Here's the syllabus, so the rest of you can follow along from home:

In honor of the holiday (and its contested names), I might recommend “Good and Evil in the American Founding,” delivered as the 2023 Vaughan Lecture on America’s Founding Principles.

It’s not just serious, but true and falsifiable. So falsify it if it’s wrong. What’s the counter example of a military leafleting civilian areas, telephoning residents warning them to evacuate before bombing, and feeding and vaccinating the population in the middle of a war?
This is why it’s a blood libel. It rests on the unspoken premise that, despite their obvious efforts to protect civilians, “Israelis are just into that sort of thing”

Also three years.
This is the final crack in my broken heart - a joint statement from @Harvard students. I could be sitting in class with these students, watching children brutally murdered, raped, kidnapped and their mutated bodies torn apart by a jeering crowd - and hear why it’s justified.
The hold-up problem made flesh!
Complex modern societies are built on cooperation; *lots* of small groups can shut things down by suddenly breaking their promises. If each group can extract the full value of the ruin they threaten, it’ll quickly add up to more than 100%
Thanks for having me there!
Thank you to @ProfBradClark and @StephenESachs for a lively Daniel Webster Debate on whether courts should embrace general law, moderated by Professor @_John_Mikhail.
We’re grateful to our speakers and everyone who joined us for a great discussion.

Looking forward to this event Monday at Georgetown Law:
“Should Courts Embrace General Law?”
@GeorgetownLaw @GtownFedSoc
"Zionism is racism" is racism. Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Italy—all national states w/ easier naturalization for coethnics or descendants of past citizens. If you see a Jewish state of Israel as *definitionally* illegitimate in a way that they're not, it's because you're a bigot.
To be clear:
* "I would like to see a single binational state incorporating both modern Greece and modern Turkey": not bigotry.
* "I see a desire for self-determination by Greeks in Greece as racist, and no other national state can possibly have this property": bigotry.
