13th place, 2nd masters in 2:33:26 at @nycmarathon yesterday. The crowds, the energy, the city were off the hook. NYC marathon # 5 in the books for me. Thanks for all the support and cheers!
A message to my HS and college athletes: you have nothing to prove to anyone! Not your school, not your coach, not the fans. Let the pressure come from within because you want it for you and find joy in discovering who that runner can be. I promise you don’t owe anyone a result.
Emily Venters sent a message this morning winning the US 10k champs. I imagine it was something like “I don’t give a ^*%* who comes with me but I’m running all gas no brakes the whole 10k.” What a run for this tough competitor! 31:09, all women’s record.

On Saturday some of the best US women are competing at the 6k champs in Canton, Ohio. They’ll line up for a national title and $20,000 in total prize $. The course is net downhill & quick so we should see an epic battle. I’ll try to post updates during the race! The field is 🔥

For anyone that DNF’d @wser or any race for that matter: Hold your head high. It doesn’t negate the work you put it. It doesn’t make you a fraud for having big goals and putting them out there. You were brave enough to start. Anyone judging would never be in the trenches w/ you.

Excited to share after 20 years of road racing and track, I’m racing my 1st trail race this Friday at the Broken Arrow Ascent. Have no idea what to expect other than lung burning, legs on the edge, 2800ft of climbing and a whole new adventure to take on!
