I am happy to have gotten to meet and spend some time with @SenatorShealy! She is a force. While I am devastated to see her leave the senate, I am excited to see what she does as an advocate on the outside. Those legislators better watch out!

The road may have twists and turns, hills and valleys, with uncertainty and adversaries along the way. But you must continue walking your path. It is the only way. You were built for this journey. 💗

Domestic. Violence. Is. Not. Just. Physical. Abuse.
Coercive control. Financial abuse. Sexual abuse. Emotional & verbal abuse. Psychological aggression. Exploitation. These are all forms of DV.
Intimate partner violence is more complicated than the law would have us believe.

My mom was a nurse. She lived up to her oath everyday - even after she retired. She instilled compassion, kindness, and love for others in my sister and me. And that is what I want to bring to the statehouse. #NursesWeek

If Bowen Turner had been effectively prosecuted and sentenced appropriately, he would not be out driving on SC’s roads, putting lives at risk. We must do better in SC courtrooms to protect our citizens from repeat offenders. #victimsmatter

We received notification Bowen Turner has been arrested AGAIN on charges of driving under the influence, public disorderly conduct, & open container, among other charges. This is a failure of our justice system & more lives have been endangered in SC. #victimsmatter

The Committee on Judicial Selection at the SC General Assembly will hear public testimony on Tuesday. Unfortunately, there’s not a lot of notice for this hearing. And I fear that many victims who I know want to testify will be unable to attend due to the short notice.

Grateful to @Heather81851564 for including me in the conversation today w/ @ClyburnSC06’s office about the Multi-Cancer Early Detection (MCED) legislation in Congress. It took over a year to get a diagnosis for my mom. This test could be transformative in diagnosing cancer. – at Greenville, SC

It is difficult to prove a problem within our judicial system because the system & the bureaucracy surrounding the system limit the information available & don’t track simple things like the number of cases that are plead down during guilty pleas. The system is not transparent. – at South Carolina, USA

We got out of the hearing well after 6pm. They have requested some emails which will be provided. I’m grateful that Mr. Stoller and I were able to speak and that the JMSC took as much time as they did during this hearing. Electing judges is important business. We’ll stay tuned. – at South Carolina, USA

Deputy Solicitor David Miller admits victims were NOT notified. Did he think Rep. Rutherford would call them? The court? Victims rights were trampled yet AGAIN & no one takes responsibility. Instead, David Miller runs for judge in front of JMSC chaired by Rutherford. 🤯 – at South Carolina, USA
