BREAKING: EVERYONE NEEDS TO HEAR THIS.
Senator Mark Kelly just completely torched Donald Trump:
"When Donald Trump was driving the Taj Mahal casino into bankruptcy, I was getting shot at over Iraq and Kuwait. In 2001, after Donald Trump said that the collapse of the Twin Towers now meant he now owned the tallest skyscraper in Manhattan, I was carrying flags honoring 911 victims into space on a rocket ship. In 2003, when Donald Trump was writing birthday greetings to the monster, Jeffrey Epstein, I was the first on the scene to recover the bodies of my fellow astronauts who died when Space Shuttle Columbia exploded during re-entry. In 2011, when Trump was hosting a reality show, and peddling conspiracy theories against President Barack Obama, I was sitting next to my wife’s hospital bed as she recovered from a gunshot wound to the head."
Happy Pride month to our vibrant and wonderful community. Unfortunately they will be those that try to dull the way you shine. Don’t let them. We are here with you and we aren’t going anywhere. #LGBTQIAHappyPrideMonth #TransInSTEM #LGBTQIA
Think NIH freezes and cuts dont effect anything besides budgets?
Students in classes can’t find labs to do dissertations in because now PIs dont have money to fund education and training.
Schools arent taking students next fall.
We risk losing a generation of scientists.
I am visible for those that can’t be and I will continue to fight for our community. #TransInSTEM #TransDayOfVisibility #WeWontBeErased #ScienceIsForEveryone

I worked in the LRN (funded by CDC grants) We were the ones who were prepared to do testing. Every state has one LRN lab. These are the people trained to respond to this kind of thing. Hopefully they still have jobs.
Hopefully the NIH funding freeze doesn’t affect their work.
Huge cancer breakthrough! mRNA vaccine (similar to COVID vaccine tech) shows stunning results against pancreatic cancer! 75% of responsive patients STILL cancer-free at 3 yr, normally 80% recur. Could revolutionize treatment for one of deadliest cancers! Funded in part by @NIH
This is why freezing funds has been devastating. Grants enable labs to operate for years. Years of work is done prior to show why a grant should be awarded. If a lab loses a grant that has real world impact, technicians laid off, no students trained, and possibly losing your lab.

Here’s what I want from society as a trans person:
✅ the right to exist freely without laws that interfere with that right
✅ gold standard gender affirming healthcare
✅ to be left the fuck alone

Van Hollen: "There's no Article 4 in the Constitution that gives Elon Musk that authority, and the way he's been 'delegated' this authority is illegal, and the actions he's taking are illegal, and we need to shut down this illegal operation."

That’s 1.5 billion in medical research aimed at a plethora of diseases that many of our citizens have to suffer because there is no treatment or cure.
NIH has stopped considering new grant applications, delaying decisions about how to spend millions of dollars.
The freeze occurred because the Trump administration has blocked the NIH…
