@NobelPrize winner Thomas Cech's recent essay in the @nytimes highlights #RNA as the molecule set to redefine the future of science. While DNA has historically dominated research, RNA is emerging as a cornerstone for new scientific breakthroughs.
In the essay, Cech recounts his discovery of RNA's catalytic power, emphasizing its roles beyond genetic information storage, such as enzyme activity and chromosome protection. RNA's versatility has led to innovative therapies, including #mRNA vaccines and treatments for spinal muscular atrophy and cancers. Cech sums up the opportunity by saying, "The age of RNA is just getting started."
