I don't know who came up with this idea of teaching two cohorts of kids (some in person, socially distanced, some online) simultaneously but it's wrong. It's two jobs. It's not good for kids, and it's not good for teachers.

I have been a teacher for over two decades. I have never felt this uncertain, stressed, and tired. I am teaching in-person and online - 12 hour days, routinely in classes I have taught for years. I wake up every day and think about quitting. - an anonymous teacher

Super proud of these ⁦@SanJacSuns⁩! They came in early this morning to learn about the importance of phonics instruction and it’s impact on comprehension. While they gathered and grew their knowledge, their neighbor teacher greeted their students. It takes a village!

Tip from a wise educator whom I admire: when you move from rewriting entire sessions (why!?) to focusing on planning small groups/conferences, S growth SOARS. Why spend time rewriting sessions when they are done for you? Focus on what matters most. #tcrwp

For our third and final evening...we decided to walk The High Line and walk up The Vessel. Spectacular views at the top!

Our second night we had a much larger adventure. It took us 3 hours and 8 miles to find the Brooklyn Bridge. I probably should have mentioned how bridges terrify me. Good thing the view was perfect!
