🇺🇸 FREEDOM IS NOT SELF-SUSTAINING!! We inherited rights other people fought, marched, sacrificed - and sometimes died - to secure and preserve. And yet for this year's mid-term election I hear: “I don't like politics.” "Gas is too expensive." “My vote doesn't matter.” “They're all the same.” "The GOP sucks." "Trump didn't do 'X' yet." No! Stop whining. Self-government requires the SELF to participate. You don't have to become a political junkie. But you do have a responsibility to know who represents you. Know what they have done. Know what the candidates propose. Understand the issues. Separate slogans from facts. And to get off the couch and VOTE. Not because someone on television told you how. Not because some celebrity told you how. Not because I told you how. Because YOU did the work. Freedom doesn't come with a maintenance department. There is no mysterious group of responsible adults somewhere whose job it is to preserve the Republic while the rest of us get on with our lives. And, this election is between 'Freedom' and 'communism/socialism'. We're the responsible adults. Your representatives exercise power with the consent of the governed. Make them earn that consent. Learn. Question. Decide. Then show up and VOTE. Citizenship isn't a spectator sport. Neither is freedom. There is Magic in Truth. ~ MLF
