With all the commotion taking place on X over the past week, this talk has been on my mind from Elder David A. Bednar (@BednarDavidA).
“And Nothing Shall Offend Them”
Elder Bednar taught, “To be offended is a choice we make; it is not a condition inflicted or imposed upon us by someone or something else.”

Take an hour to watch this new AI workshop from Elder Gong:
In a new video from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Elder Geritt W. Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles explores “how to hear God’s voice clearly in an age of artificial intelligence (AI), and why that distinction matters more now than ever.”
“Can artificial intelligence replace God?” Elder @GerritWGong asks in the hour-long, gospel workshop video now available on YouTube. “That question may sound provocative, but in an age when we turn to algorithms for answers, guidance and even comfort, it matters deeply.”

True faith is focused in and on the Lord Jesus Christ and is a principle of action, trust, and power.
As we act in accordance with the truths of the Savior’s gospel and trust in His promises, we are blessed with the spiritual capacity to “rise up” and press forward through the challenges of mortality while experiencing the joys His gospel makes possible in our lives.

So in 1829, a 23-year-old farmboy dictates the Book of Mormon in about 65 days — no notes, no rewrites.
In 1980, statisticians ran it through a computer. Not the doctrine — the tiny words every writer uses without thinking. a, of, the, and. The fingerprint you can't fake.
The verdict: two dozen DISTINCT authors inside the book. Odds of one author writing it all — under 1 in 100 billion.
How did Joseph Smieth fake two dozen fingerprints in 65 days? Unless....

Moroni 7:11 For behold, a bitter fountain cannot bring forth good water; neither can a good fountain bring forth bitter water; wherefore, a man being a servant of the devil cannot follow Christ; and if he follow Christ he cannot be a servant of the devil.

People often inquire about the exact time of the Second Coming.
While we cannot know that (see Matthew 24:36), what if the day of His coming were tomorrow? If you knew that you would meet the Lord tomorrow—through premature death or through His unexpected coming—what would you do today?
As Jesus taught in His prophecy of the Second Coming, blessed is the “faithful and wise servant” who is attending to his duty when the Lord comes (see Matthew 24:45–46).
“Wherefore,” the Savior tells us, “be faithful, praying always, having your lamps trimmed and burning, and oil with you, that you may be ready at the coming of the Bridegroom—For behold, verily, verily, I say unto you, that I come quickly” (Doctrine and Covenants 33:17–18).
Jesus Christ lives. I testify that He shall come, as He has promised.

We’re about to find out what it really means to be disciples of Jesus Christ in the final dispensation of earth. We didn’t know, we could never have known. Soon, we will understand.

Mormons seek Truth
Joseph Smith: "One of the grand fundamental principles of 'Mormonism' is to receive truth, let it come from whence it may." (History of the Church, 5:499)
"We should gather all the good and true principles in the world and treasure them up, or we shall not come out true 'Mormons'." (History of the Church, 5:517)
Brigham Young: "It is our duty and calling, as ministers of the same salvation and Gospel, to gather every item of truth and reject every error.
Whether a truth be found with professed infidels, or with the Universalists, or the Church of Rome, or the Methodists, the Church of England, the Presbyterians, the Baptists, the Quakers, the Shakers, or any other of the various and numerous different sects and parties, all of whom have more or less truth, it is the business of the Elders of this Church... to gather up all the truths in the world pertaining to life and salvation, to the Gospel we preach, to mechanism of every kind, to the sciences, and to philosophy, wherever it may be found in every nation, kindred, tongue, and people and bring it to Zion." (Journal of Discourses, 7:283–284)
John Taylor: "If there is any truth in heaven, earth, or hell, I want to embrace it; I care not what shape it comes in to me, who brings it, or who believes in it; whether it is popular or unpopular, truth, eternal truth, I wish to float in and enjoy." (Journal of Discourses, 1:152)
Orson F. Whitney: "God is using more than one people for the accomplishment of His great and marvelous work. The Latter-day Saints cannot do it all. It is too vast, too arduous for any one people. We have partners in the great work—men and women who, though not of our faith, are nevertheless working for the same great end—the vindication of God and the elevation of man." (General Conference Report, April 1928)
George Albert Smith: "We have come not to take away from you the truth and virtue you possess. We have come not to find fault with you nor to criticize you. We have not come here to berate you because of things you have not done; but we have come here as your brethren ... and to say to you: 'Keep all the good that you have, and let us bring to you more good.'" (Sharing the Gospel with Others, 1948)
Gordon B. Hinckley: "Let me say that we appreciate the truth in all churches and the good which they do. We say to the people, in effect, you bring with you all the good that you have, and then let us see if we can add to it." (Address in Nairobi, Kenya, February 1998)
Dieter F. Uchtdorf: "We seek for truth wherever we might find it... We are open to truth of every kind, no matter whence it comes, where it originates, or who believes in it. Let us be seekers of truth, not merely out of curiosity, but out of a deep desire to know and love God and our fellowmen." ("What Is Truth?", Church Educational System Devotional, 2013)
B.H. Roberts: "I believe 'Mormonism' affords opportunity... for thoughtful disciples who will not be content with merely repeating some of its truths, but will develop its truths; and enlarge it by that development... The disciples of 'Mormonism,' growing discontented with the necessarily inadequate statement of its dogma, will take them up, develop them, broaden them, and make them more comprehensively profound." (The Improvement Era, 1906)
The Articles of Faith 1:13 (Scripture) "...If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things."

In less than 10 minutes, Elder Tad R. Callister illustrates how Joseph Smith was a prophet of God.
“Some are willing to set aside the precious gospel truths restored by Joseph Smith because they get diverted on some historical issue or some scientific hypothesis not central to their exaltation, and in so doing they trade their spiritual birthright for a mess of pottage.”

Mormon is the compiler of almost the entire Book of Mormon. His editorial voice — phrases like 'thus we see' — shapes how every Nephite record reaches the modern reader.
His sermon on faith, hope, and charity in Moroni 7 is among the highest theological writing in the book.
Across decades of conflict and moral collapse, he worked upon the plates, abridging the large plates of Nephi and adding his own witness.
He grieved deeply over his people's wickedness. He was slain after the final battle at Cumorah.

In these latter days, we affirm that only the prophet may receive revelation through the Holy Ghost for the entire Church. Some forget this, as when Aaron and Miriam tried to convince Moses to agree with them. But the Lord taught them and us.
…Sometimes the adversary tempts us with false ideas that we may confuse with the Holy Ghost. I testify that faithfulness in obeying the commandments and keeping our covenants will protect us from being deceived. Through the Holy Ghost, we will be able to discern those false prophets who teach for doctrine the commandments of men.

President Gordon B. Hinckley delivered a masterclass on controlling our temper and emotions. This is especially pertinent at this moment and on this platform.
Check out his talk "Slow to Anger" below!
"I plead with you to control your tempers, to put a smile upon your faces, which will erase anger; speak out with words of love and peace, appreciation, and respect. If you will do this, your lives will be without regret."
Numbers 12:6
“And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.”
