There is a common struggle in society.
The Individual vs The Collective
We have many names for particular groups.
And many names for individuals.
The world sits in a yin and yang balance of systemic symptoms.
The future lies in combining them with individual investment vehicles into collective projects.
Since the end of the Cold War, the west has been under the assumption that it is right in its philosophy, science, economics, sociology, and other major thoughts of humanity –– that it had ended history, to reign supreme forever.
This trap is the same as all empires before it.
It cannot fathom that the East, particularly China, has completely different ways of approaching these that could be better in certain aspects.
I love the west for individual freedoms. But, from this obsessive focus, we've eroded the collective. Most westerners feel and see it. The decline of the once strongest economies and nations on earth.
The question of this century is:
Can the west find balance in looking after the collective, while maintaining individual freedoms, or do we get all the authoritative control without all the goodies the big dragon has made for its people?
Socialist democracy: The middle class grew.
Neoliberalism: Working poor is the norm.
And yet, mainstream economists treat neoliberalism as THE way economics should work.
It doesn’t. We’ve seen the reality.
Net zero doesn’t solve climate change.
It offshores production and destroys your own economy.
Yes, look after the environment.
But, we have to be practical as a society.
In a world of abundant randomly but skewed fed information, guidance is a god send when you want to learn a skill
There are 3 types of economies:
1) Hands off Capitalism: let the markets decide. Remove government assets. Somehow let government be the backstop with no leverage.
2) A mixed economy: let the markets thrive. Maintain strategic assets/get the population invested in strategic assets. Reduce bad things like homelessness with social housing. Increase good things like high paying jobs through training and competition incentives (subsidies). Understand and act on good debt to invest in the nations future.
3) A centralized economy: The government dictated how everything is run. Instead of a thriving market, irregularities exist.
The more an economy leans to the extremes of 1 or 3, the worse things become. The more an economy is balanced with 2, the more we can steady the ship.
AI is a tool
Bad writers believe AI has solved their writing problem.
But readers are not idiots.
If your writing as a whiff of AI, every word comes into question:
- Is this your thought or a robots’?
- Did you really spend a week writing an article or are you full of shit?
- Do you actually expect me to spend more time reading something than you spent writing it?
The tolerance for AI-generated writing is dropping. And ‘normal’ people are getting better at recognising it.
The giveaway is not just em dashes and juxtaposition.
It is a feeling.
Or, more accurately, a lack of feeling.
Because slop has no soul. And no prompt will fix that.
Use AI to buy back time.
Use that time to write.

Writing down 10 ideas per day unlocked so much creativity for me.
I did it for almost a year. Before, I never thought I had interesting ideas. But I began noticing so many more things as a result. Patterns, magic in the mundane, cool business ideas.
James’s idea is very powerful. Highly recommend.
Every day, write down ten ideas. This exercises the idea muscle. People say "ideas are a dime a dozen, execution is everything". But those people forget that "Execution" is a subset of ideas. If you dont' hvae good ideas, you won't have good executions. And the idea muscle acts like a muscle, it atrophies if you dont use it. Try this for 2-3 weeks and you still see what I mean ,Your brain actually transforms. NOTE: don't write down 7 ideas. You have to make it to ten.
Telling the truth IS important…
But truth can be approached from different angles.
If you approach truth with a negative mindset, you could leave yourself left trapped in a whole.
If you approach truth with a positive mindset, you look at opportunities to change the reality.
Don’t put your head in the sand.
But, have faith in your abilities to better your life when you face those harsh truths.
When I first started building, I made a tax polling app.
Then it turned into this fully fledged apolitical app.
Now I’ve added the original poll into it.
Try it and let me know what you think 👇
National recently announced their budget.
You never got a vote on that split.

The problem when you open your housing market to the world is your housing market becomes a playground for the rich.
Might "look good" for business and gdp, but screws over the average person who wants to get on the property ladder.

National wants 1.5 million homes through deregulation.
The Greens want a wealth tax to fund 30,000 homes a year.
9 parties, 9 very different answers on housing.
