🗣️🗣️Dear Lagosians,
Your Local government election is 3 months away!
📌 For returning candidates? Ask how they used your LG money during their time in office.
📌 For new candidates? Ask about their plans for transparency and accountability.
Either way, you need me.budgit.org!
But if you don’t #AskQuestions on how your LG funds are being spent, your silence is endorsing waste. 🙄

Adding a station at Sandfill would also help improve ferry connectivity since there's a jetty there. Transferring to the ferry from the Civic Centre station would require an inconvenient trek over Falomo bridge.
Replying to @TonamiPlayman
I would add infill stations between Civic Center & Lekki Phase 1 at Sandfill, & between Lekki Phase 1 & Freedom Way at Maruwa. This would reduce the station spacing to a more reasonable 1.6km.

I am thrilled about this partnership because it puts ferry info in the hands of more Lagosians. To make big progress increasing awareness about the ferries, we must meet people where they are. Incorporating our ferry data into existing navigation tools is a huge win!
We’re excited to announce our partnership with @ornamapapp!🎉To make water transport in Lagos more accessible and transparent, our ferry route data is now featured on the Ornamap app.

This is why it's essential for leaders to plan ahead for expansion and growth in African cities.
By 2050, 80% of the continent’s total population growth will be absorbed by urban areas. That’s millions of people moving into cities, looking for housing, jobs, and basic services.
This #urbanization will reshape everything from infrastructure and transport to governance.

We had the pleasure of chatting with Emmanuel Olamide, a ferry operator in Lagos.
For him, the waterways aren’t just for scenic views—they’re a means of livelihood and a way to build relationships and connections across the city. #FerryFebruary

This is the motivation behind #FerryFebruary. Lagos traffic significantly hinders the city's productivity and public health. #Lagos commuters deserve better information about alternatives that could provide a faster, more enjoyable commute.
Lagos traffic is more than just a daily headache; it’s a silent contributor to stress, air and noise pollution. Through our #FerryFebruary project, we're helping Lagosians make smarter decisions with regards to their daily commute.

I spend a lot of time on Google Maps looking up what things are around me.
Commuting in Lagos can take hours but Lagosians always find a way to make the most of it. What do you do while sitting in traffic?
Any recommendations for passing the time? Books? Podcasts? Quote this tweet with your tips! #ferryfebruary

Today, I am excited to see this project become a reality! We have a team out collecting data on all the informal/private ferries in #Lagos. The goal is to educate commuters about water transit, helping them have more enjoyable commutes and reducing road congestion #FerryFebruary
Did you know that you could spend almost 3 hours going from Ikorodu to Lekki via a bus/ private car but only 25 mins if you take the ferry?
This is why we are mapping all the ferry routes in Lagos to help commuters understand water transit in the city.
